We proudly celebrate our amazing school board members who make Four Rivers Community School a place where dual-language dreams take root.

Chairwoman Pam Wettstein, Secretary/Treasurer Penny Walters, and members Betty Carter, Jaime Grimaldo, Ramon Palomo, and Judy Snyder are the heart of our mission to inspire a bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural future.

From those who’ve been with us since our start in 2003 to parents and dedicated community members, they share one goal: providing free, high-quality education that opens doors for every student. Their leadership fuels possibility, and we couldn’t be more grateful!

• Make sure your student is dressed appropriately for the weather to safely enjoy outdoor play. Check the attached chart for guidance on proper winter attire.
• In case of a Snow Day, we will send out a text to notify you of class cancellations. You can also be notified on KTVB, Channel 7 news. To make sure you are signed up to receive school text messages, please email tanya.navarrete@4riverscs.org.

Being bilingual is a superpower! Please:

• Remember, raising a bilingual child is a marathon, not a sprint! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

• It takes 5-7 years to build a truly bilingual brain.

• Your child is learning in both English and Spanish - an incredible feat!

• Be patient: fluency doesn't happen overnight.

Tips to support your child's journey:

• Read in both languages daily 📚

• Encourage conversations in the language they're less comfortable with 🗣️

• Celebrate small victories in language learning 🎉

• Your dedication at home makes a huge difference. Keep up the great work, and watch your child's bilingual abilities flourish over time! 🌟

Please drive slowly and patiently during drop-off and pick-up times. Safety is our top priority, so let’s work together to ensure everyone stays safe in the parking lot and around the school.
