Hello Quantum Families,


It’s hard to believe that we are already at the halfway point of the first trimester! Conferences are this week on October 10th and 11th. This is a great opportunity to hear how your Quark is performing academically, socially, and behaviorally at the start of the school year. It’s also a time to ask questions about your child, their progress, and ways to support them at home. You’ll also receive your child’s iReady report from the first diagnostic assessment. This report contains detailed information about how students are progressing toward grade-level standards in both Math and Reading.


Report cards will be handed out at Conferences for 4th and 5th grade. Report cards for students in 6th-8th will be mailed home at the end of the week.


As a reminder, there is no school on Thursday, October 10th, and Friday, October 11th due to Conferences.

PTA Information

Our Color Run Fundraiser kicks off this week on Wednesday with our school-wide launch assembly. PTA is fundraising to support school-wide events and our Explore and Elements classes. Our Color Run event is Friday, November 1st. Students can earn individual prizes, class prizes, and whole school prizes! If we hit our goal of raising $18,000 we will get to dunk me and our teachers!


We also have Restaurant Nights this week -

Oct 10th - Dave’s Hot Chicken from 4-8pm located at 1200 Auto Parkway. 20% of your order will be donated to our PTA. Mention Quantum PTA at check-out.

Oct 11th - Skyzone Night (pdf) from 3-7pm at 860 Los Vallecitos Blvd, San Marcos, CA 92069. Visit Sky zone during this time and 40% of your order will be donated to support PTA.

JAMF Parent App

The district’s Acceptable Use Policy: Student Technology, which can be reviewed on our website, outlines the expectations for students for the appropriate uses of technology. In addition, guardians may wish to manage access to their child’s school-issued device through the JAMF Parent App. While students are instructed on the responsible use of technology, the JAMF app allows guardians to implement additional restrictions on a student iPad as needed. Instructions for setting up JAMF Parent access are available by clicking on the JAMF Parent Guide on a student’s iPad or online through the EUSD Knowledge Base website.

GATE Information

All 2nd-grade students in EUSD have the opportunity to participate in universal GATE screening in November. In addition, parents and teachers may recommend students not previously screened in grades 3 through 8 to be screened for GATE eligibility.

If you are interested in having your child screened for GATE identification, please stop by the front office to pick up the Parent Background and Input Form. All forms need to be returned by Friday, October 18th. Our school team will review requests and determine which students will be eligible to be screened in November.

October is ADHD Awareness Month!

About 1 in 10 students across the general population in the US have been diagnosed with ADHD. We celebrate the resilience, challenges, and triumphs of those affected. Famous people with ADHD include: Bill Gates, Simone Biles, Albert Einstein, Michale Jordan and so many more! Learn more about ADHD here.

Halloween

We love seeing students all dressed up in costumes on Thursday October 31st, if students choose to wear a costume. No blood/gore, weapons of any kind (including toy guns or swords), or full face masks. Send your student with a change of clothes for when they are done wearing their costume. No candy at school please. Thank you!
