MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
HALLOWEEN PARTIES
Students are welcomed and encouraged to celebrate the season by wearing Halloween costumes throughout the day on Friday, October 27. The Main Office team continues to challenge grade-level teachers to beat us in our themed costumes, but they have yet to do it! Student groups are encouraged to test their creativity, too! The day will end with a schoolwide, PTO-sponsored, Halloween Classroom/Grade Level Party.
Costumes must not disrupt the learning environment, should be comfortable enough to be worn all day, and meet the following guidelines:
Students' faces cannot be covered fully with masks, make-up, hats, sunglasses, etc.
Costume blood should not be used in any way.
Costumes must be in good taste and follow the dress code.
Costumes may not reference or include alcohol, drugs, weapons (including fake or toy weapons), or be discriminatory to any group.
Administrative discretion prevails in all situations.
LOST AND FOUND
Please take a moment to visit our organized table and lunch bag/water bottle cart to see if you can reclaim a misplaced item. Due to the number of lost items, we will be making a donation to a local charity by the end of next week.
Looking forward to our Halloween celebrations next week. 27 more weeks of school! Enjoy your weekend.
-Mr. Tomco

4th Grade CogAT
Parents of 4th grade students,
Your child will be taking the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) during the window of November 6-10, 2023. The Ohio-required whole-grade testing screens all students for potential gifted identification in Superior Cognitive Ability and Creative Thinking Ability, and it also provides information about students' instruction strengths and needs. Following the screening, individual student results will be sent home with your child. Please contact your child’s school for exact testing dates and times. If you have questions about the assessment, contact megan.kinney@chardonschools.org.
