LCTC Community,

As we enter a much-anticipated spring break, I want to provide you with some updates and reminders:

Parking Lot Safety:

• Recently we had Wayne County reprogram our traffic light to allow a longer green light for us during dismissal. We are clearing our parking lot during dismissal in around five minutes now. Students have no reason to rush to beat traffic.

• Two lanes of traffic flow into the main driveway. Students are not allowed to pull out through the crosswalk to avoid those lanes.

• Students are not allowed to drive the wrong way on the one-way drive to beat traffic.

• Buses always have priority. Please do not pull out in front of the buses.

• Driving to the career center is a privilege and that privilege can be taken away for failure to comply with the rules and procedures that keep everyone safe.

Report Cards

• Report cards will be viewable on April 5th.

As we welcome the arrival of spring, we are looking forward to the exciting field trips and activities we have planned for our CTE students this season. Let’s make this last marking period the best one yet.

This is a reminder that there will be NO CLASSES in session at LCTC on Wednesday, April 10th, and Thursday, April 11th due to state testing at LPS students' home schools.

Please see your home school testing information for more details.

12th GRADE LCTC STUDENTS:

APRIL 10, 2024, is a state testing day in our high schools with NO SCHOOL for 9th and 12th grade students. For our 9th and 12th grade students, this is a Virtual Learning Day. Prior to April 10th, teachers will share (either in class or through Google Classroom) assignments and learning materials for April 10th.

On April 10th, our 9th and 12th-grade students are responsible for visiting each of their Google Classrooms to follow up and check for any additional teacher information as it pertains to April 10th assignments and learning materials. Teachers will be available to students during the school day via email and Google Classroom messaging.

ALL LCTC STUDENTS:

APRIL 11, 2024, 9th and 11th-grade students will have testing in the AM.

ALL STUDENTS will report for class hours 1-6 in the PM. Please report/remain at your home school cafeteria for your LCTC classes.

This event will take place at the Livonia Civic Center Library on April 4th from 5:30- 7:00 pm.

Mr. Martin's Construction Trades 1 students are working hard learning measuring, cutting, hanging, and finishing drywalling with their mini-build houses.

Our Construction Trades 2 students are currently finishing up working on aluminum trim, vinyl siding, electrical, and various interior finishes with their house project. After CSA testing, we ended our Marking period, with a fun team-building project egg drop competition.

The Fashion Merchandising class designed a spring look using colorful trash bags. The students worked in groups to create a design. The students used texture and silhouettes to experiment with draping techniques and layering to achieve the look. By thinking outside the box and embracing the repurposed materials we celebrate the arrival of spring in style while promoting creativity in fashion.
