Dear Fremont Families,

I hope this email finds you well and ready to enjoy the weekend.

We have finished all of our benchmark assessments and are now using the data to inform our instruction. Teachers are currently meeting with our specialists and coaches to determine next steps for their students. If your child needs something individualized, we will be reaching out to you.

Please note that our doors open at 8:45 AM and children are marked tardy if they arrive at school after the doors close at 8:55 AM. It is important for students to be on time so they can walk into the classroom with their peers and be ready for learning.

Please fill out this form if your child is interested in joining a club at Fremont Elementary School. All clubs will meet before school from 8:00-8:40 am. Elementary students will need to be dropped off at school and will not be able to take the early morning bus. If you would like your child to sign up for multiple clubs, please fill out the form for EACH club. If you receive receipt that you signed up for a club, you are registered and will receive an email from the club leaders about 1 week prior to the club start date. THE DEADLINE TO SIGN UP FOR ANY ELEMENTARY CLUB IS FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2024.

Every year the universal screener SAEBRS (Social, Academic, and Emotional Behavior Risk Screener) is administered. At the Intermediate School all students participate in this screener by filling out a brief Google form with questions related to Social, Academic and Emotional behavior. All K-5 homeroom teachers also fill out a similar survey on each of their students. The data gathered from those surveys, along with information from staff members and parents, help to identify students in need of social emotional interventions, such as social emotional learning groups, etc. Please be aware that all 3rd-5th grade students will be filling out this survey next week.

If you plan to pick up your child early or at dismissal please call or email Aura Perez at aperezcruces@fsd79.org and email your child's homeroom teacher prior to 2:45 p.m (on Wednesdays by 2:15 p.m.) Please note in order to pick up your child from the front office you must do so by 3:00 p.m. (on Wednesdays by 2:30 p.m.) If you need the family sign to display in your car window at parent pick up please let Mrs. Perez Cruces know and we will send one home with your youngest student. Please refer to our Pick-up and Drop-off Procedures for our specific guidelines.

If your child will be absent from school for any reason, please report the absence to the school office by 9:00 a.m. by calling 847-837-0437 option 2. Safety is our number one priority so please help us by reporting as soon as possible. Attendance at school is crucial for your child’s success so every effort should be made to avoid non-health-related absences.

If you need to create a lunch account for your student, you will need your child's student id number which you can obtain by calling the front office at 847-837-0437 and click here for further details.

Right at School offers before and after school child care at FSD79, for Grades K-8. Please visit the Right At School website for information and to register your child(ren) for the program.

The Fremont PTO would love to see you at our meetings this year! Meetings are on the third Wednesday of the month in the Middle School Den at 6:00 pm. Our next meeting is on September 18th.

Childcare services for children ages 3+ will be provided at ALL of our upcoming PTO meetings. Please use the form below to let us know if you will be bringing a child to the meeting. It is not required to RSVP; however, we ask that you please do so if you plan to take advantage of childcare. Care will be provided by Fremont Middle School students for individuals ages 3 and up.

SOUP WITH THE SUPT. - SEPT. 18

Parents, please join FSD79 Superintendent of Schools Trisha Kocanda and new Elementary School Principal Beth Carmody from 5:15-6:00 p.m. at Fremont Middle School on September 18th prior to the 6:00 p.m. PTO meeting. They’ll provide an update on what’s happening around the District and the schools. Enjoy some discussion as well as complimentary soup on the school district in the process! PARENT UNIVERSITY - SEPT. 24

FSD79 in collaboration with Fremont PTO is hosting our first Parent University event of the year on September 24 at 6:30 p.m. at Fremont Middle School entitled "Growing a Resilient Mind: The Parent Edition." This presentation, led by Audrey Grunst, LCSW of Simply Bee Counseling, focuses on teaching five foundational tools for building emotional wellness through the Growth & Resiliency Model. The goal of this presentation is to provide parents necessary skills that support mental & emotional growth during challenging times. Free child care will be provided. ROOM PARENT UPDATE

All volunteers were notified of the Room Parent selection. If you were selected to be a Room Parent, please remember, there is a MANDATORY meeting on Wednesday, September 18th at 6:45 pm in the Middle School Den immediately following the PTO meeting. HALLOWEEN CLASS PARTY HOST SIGNUP

Sign up now to volunteer to be a Party Host at the Halloween class parties! Halloween parties will be held on Thursday, October 31st. Party Times are as follows: Kindergarten Classes: Lindley, Martinelli, & Van Reck 10:30-11:15 AM; Kindergarten Classes: Goldman, Hay, Hoehne, Eddy, Perna, Sherman, & Kastein, and Grades 1st - 5th 2:00 PM - 2:45 PM; Lincoln AM 9:45 - 10:15 AM; Lincoln PM 2:00 - 2:30 PM.

Each class party is designated 3 Party Hosts. If more than 3 parents sign up for a classroom party, volunteers will be chosen at random. Please note: All remaining parents who have not been assigned to host a party will not be invited to attend the party.

The sign up will close on September 27th. Volunteers that are chosen to be party hosts for the Halloween parties will be notified on October 4th.

PTO MEMBERSHIP/ONLINE DIRECTORY FOR 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR

If you already have an account in Membership Toolkit, thank you for creating and/or updating your Membership Toolkit account last year.

If you don't have an account in Membership Toolkit, set it up now for free! Once you have created an account in Membership Toolkit your child will appear in the online directory immediately (that's if you choose to do so). To create an account, go to fsd79.membershiptoolkit.com and follow the directions in the attached form (Online Student Directory Set Up Instructions 2024-2025).

To gain access to the Online Student Directory your account must be active and you must pay the $15 PTO Membership Family Fee. If you paid your PTO Membership fee through your TeacherEase account before June 15th, your payment has been confirmed and you currently have access to the Online Student Directory. If you didn’t pay your PTO Membership Family Fee before June 15th, you can pay the $15 PTO Membership Family fee thru Venmo @Fremont-PTO; or by bringing or sending the attached form with your cash payment or check made payable to Fremont PTO to any school front office. The option to pay the PTO Membership Fee thru your TeacherEase account is no longer available. Once we receive confirmation of your payment, we will give you access to the online directory. Please note it may take up to one week to be granted access to the online directory.
