Hello Falcon Families,
Welcome back from February Break! Weโre excited to have our students return as we begin a new grading period. Although we have a long stretch ahead until our next break on Cesar Chavez Day at the end of the month, weโre looking forward to a productive and engaging period.
This week, we're kicking things off with our E-Sports Falcon Olympicsโa fantastic opportunity for our students to come together, build community, and have a lot of fun as we finish February.

IB Program: Attention sophomores: applications for students interested in joining the IB diploma program are now available in the learning center during break and lunch. Applications are due at the end of February. Please see Mr. Winsatt for more information.

Regular Week Schedule
Students are on the regular week schedule. The schedules below begin the week of Monday, August 12.
- On Thursdays all students start at 8:30am, be ready for more morning traffic.
- On Thursdays all students get out at 2:23pm, be ready for more after school traffic.
- Student Union and all offices close at 2:30pm every Thursday (will open next day at 8:00am)
- Singleton Parking lot gates will be closed around 9:00am
- Singleton Pedestrian gate will be closed at the start of 2nd period (9:40am most days)

To make sure the process is smooth and efficient, please have the Minga app downloaded, logged in, and ready for scanning when you get your meals.

Financial Aid: Seniors, the financial aid priority deadline for FAFSA or the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) is Monday, March 3rd. If you applied to private universities or public universities such as UCโs or CSUโs, you must fill out this application before the deadline. Just a reminder, community colleges and some trade schools accept these financial aid applications as well. If you miss this deadline you will miss out on financial aid to help you pay for your education. You can stop by the Learning Center during lunch to get help from college advisers. School lunch will be provided. To get started on an application, you will need to know your social security number (if you have one), and have your or your parents 2023 taxes. The College and Career Center is also available to help, it is typically open every day until 4:30pm. There will be assistance provided over the break as well. Please check out the flyer for dates, times, and more information. (Please note, there was a financial aid workshop scheduled at Andrew Hill but it has since been cancelled)
Community Colleges: Seniors, local community colleges will be visiting us! These include San Jose City College, Evergreen Valley College, De Anza College, Foothill College, Mission College, and West Valley College. They will be sharing information about their school and having an application workshop afterwards so you can get started on your application. If you are interested in any of them, sign up below to attend, or scan the purple community college flyer available in your Econ or Gov class! If you are unsure, consider signing up anyways to reserve your spot! Hereโs the link to sign up.

Class of 2025, please take a moment to schedule your senior portrait in the San Jose Studio. The scheduling site is now ready for you to self-schedule your senior portraits. Please use the link provided to reserve a day and time for your appointment.

FSU invites you to Pistahan sa East Side, a vibrant celebration of Filipino culture and heritage. It will be held on March 1st, 2025 at James Lick High School from 12:30 to 4 PM. There will be performances, food, and more. Tickets are now on sale for $10 online and $15 at the door. Please speak to Ms. Happy in Room C-105 if you have any questions. We hope to see you there!
