Weekly Message
Learning Never Stops!
As you are aware, the district holds professional development days throughout the year. These are days that students don't attend school, but most of our staff are participating in timely learning and collaboration on those days. Last week, most of our teaching staff participated in "Wonders" PD (Wonders is our new English-Language Arts curriculum), and spent time sharing learning from their classroom with each other, diving into differentiation and writing strategies, planning for upcoming units with their teammates, and debriefing a site visit! For the site visit, we had several teachers visit an elementary school in Milton, and they are in their second year implementing Wonders. We got some great ideas, and heard some valuable "lessons learned" from those teachers, that we were able to discuss back at school.
Other staff participated in team book studies, special education assistants spent the morning working with our Director of Student Services and Director of Equity/Inclusion/Belonging to share student strategies and check-in on their roles, and of course, all staff had ample work time in their spaces that day as well. We try to strike a balance of directed time along with the fact that we trust our staff to use their time wisely in their spaces getting the jobs they need to do, done!
Thank you, CEPS staff!
