• We’re excited to host Open House this year! Here are a few details:
• Families are encouraged to bring your child's school supplies to open house. If you don't have them yet or you forget- no big deal- your child can bring them the first day of school.
• Families need to sign up for a time to meet their teacher. Use this LINK to sign up. Sign up ends Tues, Aug 27th at 4 pm.
• There will be two families per 10 min time slot to meet your teacher.
• If you have more than one student in the building, use the “register for multiple conferences” option

Color your World with Books!
First through fifth graders who participated in the "Color your World with Books!" summer reading program can turn in their reading trackers to Mrs. Nelson in the Media Center during Open House. If you would like more information about the program or need a new reading tracker, click here.

Open House Book Fair

Taylors Falls Elementary is hosting a PaperPie (formerly known as Usborne) Book Fair in the Community Room from 3-6:30pm. To see a sneak peek or shop the online fair, click here. Both in-school and online sales benefit the Media Center.

• Parents are encouraged to update their emergency contact information anytime through ParentVue.

Parents, to ensure you have access to these documents, please complete the following steps:

• Log into ParentVue and activate your account before school starts to ensure you have access.
• Contact the office at 213-2100 if you have questions.
• Download the ParentVue app.

At Chisago Lakes School District, we utilize SchoolMessenger in order to get our important messages out to our families.

In addition to emails and phone calls, this year we will utilize the texting feature for school delays/closings, transportation (late buses), and other emergency situations.

The Minnesota Department of Revenue would like to remind you to save all of your receipts for your child's education expenses. There are tax relief programs that you may qualify for, such as the K-12 Education Subtraction or the K-12 Education Credit.

Mr. Riebe is in his twelfth year as principal at TFE. Prior to having his dream job as TFE Principal, he served as a middle school associate principal, special education administrator, special education teacher, school psychologist, and special education paraprofessional. He has been working in public education for over 20 years. He received his master's and education specialist degrees from the University of Wisconsin.

Mr. Riebe lives with his wife of twenty years and four children (all of whom attend/ed TF Elementary) in Taylors Falls. On a weekend, you'll find him doing pretty much anything outside: Fishing with the kids, hiking, hunting, camping, or tinkering with a new woodworking project in the garage. He's an avid Boundary Waters explorer, North Shore adventurer, ardent angler, and is fond of weekend experiments on his smoker.

Fun facts about Mr. Riebe

• His right eye is two different colors. This is called heterochromia!
• The only food he can't (and won't) eat is green peppers.
• In college, he worked in orphanages in Mexico and the Republic of Trinidad.
• He and his wife once hiked in the Andes Mountains in Peru for 6 days.
  
• He loves birds!
