June 3rd - Senior Awards Ceremony @ 6:00 p.m. - This event is open only to graduates and presenters. It will be streamed online for others to view.

June 4th - Graduation at 10:00am

Graduations has been rescheduled to Thursday, June 4th at 10:00am on our football field. Students will be spaced out on the field to ensure social distancing measures are being met. This is the last day of work for each of you. Staff participation is voluntary. If you would like to attend, you will be marching out spaced apart and seated on the field spaced apart. As always, staff will march out in front of students. I will send out more information about the who, what, when, where, and why as we get closer.

We have extended our Light up the Night event to all of the schools in our district. Seniors will be starting at their Elementary schools at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 12th and will have a police escort to the middle schools and finally to us. If you would like to attend, please be at BHP ready to scream and shout at 7:30 on Friday in the student parking lot! You may bring your families if you would like.

If you have any student needing a refund for cancelled events, please email a list of the students to Rhetta with the amount of the refund. She will need a parent name and home address. She can only make checks out to the parents and will be mailing the refunds home.

- Keep a separate gradebook for Q4 Grades - I will give you more info on how to override the Semester 2 average when we get closer to grades.

- E-Learning Assignments can only help grades. They cannot bring a grade down!

- Senior grades are due May 15th - Continue to remind your students!

- Enter assignments into Powerschool and click on missing or collected (This will help parents)

- Encourage students to makeup and redo as much as possible from before we were out!

- Any grade changes from Quarter 1 or 2 are allowed, but you must complete a grade change form

- Non-Instructional Staff - Please remember to keep logging your 3.5 hours each day.

All materials requests are due to your department heads by May 8th. Department heads need to submit to me by May 15th.

The SCDE has released additional guidance to schools and districts that provides recommendations on the amount of daily instructional time students should receive by grade level. It is important we take into account differences in how our students are able to receive remote instruction and the need for parents to focus on the social, emotional, and physical well-being of children during school closures.

*If you are hosting Meet, Zoom, or Skype sessions on top of requiring work you are probably going over the 45 minute limit. Please keep this in mind as you move forward.

I appreciate all that each of you are doing to keep in contact with your students. Especially those of you that have struggled with reaching many of those hard to contact parents. I have counselors, admin, and other staff also working to reach our most at-risk students.

Please continue to reach out on a weekly basis to those parents and students that you are not receiving work from. We need to urge our students to continue to complete their work so that they can get as many points added to their grade as possible!

We have less than 10 seniors that we are pushing hard to get all e-learning work completed so that they can graduate. Senior grades are due May 15th. If you teach a Senior that needs your class to graduate, please keep communicating with them as much as possible!

The State Health Plan will cover testing to diagnose COVID-19 at no member cost when prescribed according to the guidelines set by public health authorities. Any services associated with treatment will be covered following normal Plan provisions.

Rebecca has attended Anderson Career and Technology Center for graphic communications for 3 years. She was also a BHP cheerleader. After graduation, Rebecca will attend North Greenville University for a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. Her family is proud of how much she has accomplished throughout her high school years!
