Bernardsville Night at the Ballpark
Music Through the Years
DJ Good Time Charlie (aka Charlie Zavalick) regaled the audience of Bernardsville seniors with stories and music from the 1920's to the 1970's. The more than 50 attendees sang and danced along to Beer Barrel Polka, Mitch Miller, Frank Sinatra and Dion. Co-sponsored by the Mayor's Wellness Campaign Committee and the Centennial Committee, the event was held in the new community center at Community in Crisis.
SAVE THE DATE: Bernardsville's Centennial Festival is scheduled for September 14th at the Polo Grounds.
Public Safety Update
Motor Vehicle Theft Information
I, along with the mayors and police chiefs from Bernards Township, Bedminster, Bridgewater, Far Hills and Peapack/Gladstone have been meeting regularly to address the car theft situation. Bernards Township is installing 13 license plate reader cameras at key locations by highway exits and Bernardsville will be installing three cameras as well. All the Somerset Hills governing bodies have adopted an anti-crime ordinance, which allows the municipal court to impose a fine or jail time on anyone who trespasses on private property and attempts to open a door of a car or a house.
Hyundais and Kias are now being targeted due to a social media challenge. The Office of the Attorney General has launched a public awareness initiative to address this recent issue. If you own a Hyundai or a Kia, please watch the video below.
