Hello Corvallis Community,

Today we are honoring indigenous people with a Land Acknowledgement. A Land Acknowledgement is a formal statement that recognizes and respects Native peoples as traditional stewards of lands. The statement highlights the enduring relationship between Native peoples and their traditional territories. Our schools are built on Muwekmw and Ohlone Tribe lands. We endeavor to use the land wisely and respectfully.

Fall weather is starting to show up! We are working hard in our classrooms learning to read and write, solve math problems, learn about the world, do science experiments, and learn conflict resolution skills. In other words, we're growing.

We want our recess time to be as fun as possible. That means all of our studnets need to play safely. Playworks and our Junior Coaches will be out leading games and helping resolve any conflicts. Help us support all children by reminding them that playing safely means using equipment properly.

Our color run is this Friday! Please send your envelope back to school with your donations by Wednesday, October 16th. Your child's name must be on the envelope so they can get credit for their donations.

Don't forget our Fall Fesitval is coming up Friday, October 25th. Please send a bag of candy to school. This will be distributed to the children at the event.

A bag of candy donation encouraged for our candy parade for Corvallis students and younger siblings.

October 25th Fall Festival Truck or Treat 5:30 pm- 7:00 pm Students and their younger siblings are welcome with their adults. Please donate a bag of candy to be handed out at the end of the night.

When dropping off your child's lunch please be sure their name is on the lunch. It isn't easy to keep track of all the lunches and whose goes where. The basket outside will be collected at 11:15 each day.

All of our classrooms need donations of tissues, cleaning wipes, paper towels, and bandaids.

Every school day is a day of learning for our students. It's important that students are in class on time and ready to learn. Our students line up at 8:33 and are in classrooms at 8:35.

Students entering the building from 8:35-8:45 will be greeted by our staff and given a tardy slip to take to class. After 8:45 students will report to the office to obtain a tardy slip.

If your child will not attend school on a particular day you may email cor.att@slzusd.org or call 510-317-4999. Please leave a voice mail. Our office checks it several times a day.

Many of our students suffer anxiety. As a parent, I know how helpless we can feel when our children are suffering. Here is an article that talks about some things parents can do at home. Please reach out to your child's teacher to discuss your concerns. We want to help you and your child work through the anxiety and enjoy school.
