Our PTO sponsored Jog-A-Thon was a huge success this week thanks to the support of our Governor Winslow School families and Mr. Jackson's unwavering commitment to our students. Children jogged on a picture-perfect day to raise money for our wonderful school community. Thanks to those who sponsored our runners, the funds raised will be used for field trips, playground equipment, enrichment programs, and digital learning resources. We are grateful to all who supported this very successful event!

Get your flu shot, it takes about 2 weeks for protection to develop after vaccination.

There are many flu viruses, and they are always changing. Each year a new flu vaccine is made to protect against the influenza viruses believed to be likely to cause disease in the upcoming flu season. Even when the vaccine doesn’t exactly match these viruses, it may still provide some protection. CDC.gov .

New families should have received their login information via email from our Aspen team. Please check your email for your credentials. All families can contact aspen@mpsd.org if you have any questions accessing the parent portal.

GWS will continue to use the PickUp Patrol (PUP) App to help us better manage our dismissal process. PUP allows parents to electronically make daily dismissal changes from a computer or smart phone. Families that have not already registered will receive an email with login information.

Ice cream will be available at lunch every Friday! To expedite the process, it would be very helpful if money is preloaded onto your child's School Bucks account rather than sending in cash. Check your account because several accounts have balances from last year. Siblings cannot share accounts so please be sure to preload each child's individual accounts.You can add money by clicking here. (After you log in or register (if new) than you can use your child’s Birthday for the ID Number to add your child’s account.)

If cash is sent in label the envelope with your child's name.

The cost is $1.50

Lunch will be served at all elementary schools this year free of charge.

Now, on to the next exciting project! Keep a look out for emails next week regarding "Boo Baskets", these are a special treat delivered to each classroom on Halloween with goodies for both students and teachers.
