Message from the Principal
Thank you to all parents to came to Parent/Teacher Conferences last week! As always, please feel free to contact us any time you would like to meet. The communication between home and school can make a huge difference in a student's progress!
One thing that often begins to become a bigger issue as we near the fourth quarter, and enter the fourth quarter, is homework. As part of our process of establishing routines, we ask that you continue to check homework nightly. We are hoping that our students are writing their assignments daily in their agendas and that you are looking at them at night and asking to see the work. This will also give you an opportunity to continue to coach organization as you see the homework folders, other folders, and the book bag.
It is sometimes hard to remember how and when we learned how to be organized. In fact, some people never do. That is why teaching a system, as we do, allows students a template from which they can build. The addition of carrying items in backpacks has added an additional element of organization. Again, thank you for your help with this!
Please note next week, on February 28th, is that last time to order a yearbook.
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Tim Holcombe

Attendance Matters!
The Importance of Regular Attendance
Did you know that missing 18 days of school in a year, whether excused or unexcused, is considered chronic absence? Research indicates that by 6th grade, chronic absence is one of the strongest predictors of a student's likelihood to graduate from high school.
The good news? Attending school regularly makes a big difference! Students who attend consistently feel more connected to their school community, build strong relationships, and stay on track for success!
Let’s work together to support student success—every day in school counts!
Congratulations to the following students who proved Attendance Matters through staying in the Green on their charts: Olivia Cassoni, Liam Cousino, Milo Doughty, Madeline Forgette, Isabella Komon, Kaydence Krueger, Selene Mahr, Maely O'Connor, Blake Williams
