Bomber News
2024 December Edition
Message from Principal Rowell
This is a very busy time of the year that is filled with many school related events and holiday preparations. These events range from various holiday concerts, starting the winter athletic seasons, and giving back to the community through community service projects.
We hope that you enjoyed the band concert and invite you to join us for the upcoming choir concert. Additionally, we invite you to support our Blue Bomber athletic teams who have started out the season very well. Also, we are so proud of our activities and athletics teams who ended the fall season on a great note. #Weareproudofyou
Student success comes by many measures, and the state accountability report card scores are just one of those measures. Our students in both the Middle School and High School continue to excel and our school report cards indicate a rating that exceeds to significantly exceeds expectations respectively. This is something to celebrate and to be very proud of.
We want to take a moment to recognize the exceptional contributions of our staff, who go above and beyond on a daily basis to prepare our students for success. A sincere thank you to our families for your continued support and partnership as we work to develop well rounded students.
A few short weeks after we return from winter break we close out semester one. We encourage students to finish strong and to continue to remain engaged with school, having good attendance and staying on top of assignments, projects and test preparation.
On behalf of the staff we wish our families a wonderful holiday season. It is our hope that you are able to find time for some rest and relaxation while making great memories. We look forward to welcoming you back to school in 2025.
Feel free to reach out to our school counselors, school nurse, attendance office, activities/athletic director or myself if we can be of any assistance to you and your child(ren). Our team is ready to support.
Regards,
Natasha Rowell, Principal

NEWS and UPDATES
ASSESSMENT
YEAR-AT-A-GLANCE
This link includes dates that Kohler Schools will administer assessments during the 2024-25 school year.
ATTENDANCE
Is an important predictor of student success.
Thank you for continuing to update the Attendance Office to report your child's absence. If the absence is due to a professional appointment (doctor, dental, counseling, etc.) documentation provided from the provider allows us to enter the absence as "medical" instead of "absent excused." Medically excused absences do not count toward the ten days allowed per state statute.
We want to remind families that any unexcused absences, must be corrected within 2 weeks of the absence, or the absence remains documented as unexcused. Please contact Mrs. Andrews to make these corrections by email or by phone.
BOOK DRIVE
6th Annual "Out with the Old, In with the New!"

CHILD HUNGER AWARENESS
Join us in congratulating Ellie Martin and Olivia Scheuren, two students in our Health Occupations Student of America (HOSA) organization who received a proclamation from Mayor Ryan Sorenson of Sheboygan for their cause to raise Child Hunger awareness.
They completed their food drive on December 6, 2024. Food and monetary donations raised were to support the Sheboygan County Food Bank (SCFB).
This was a tremendous undertaking and we are proud of the passion exhibited by our students and their determination to do whatever it took to bring awareness to their cause. Our students are making a difference in their community. #KohlerPride
COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY
This was a tremendous success and we are proud of our students who did such a great job, represented our school district well and were able to help out local community organizations. Our students assisted 28 local organizations and completed 31 service projects.
Please read the press release that was shared with the Villager.
CRAFT FAIR
The Craft Fair was a tremendous success. Over 2000 guests attended; there were 311 volunteers and 20 committee chairs.
Thank you to all those who spent hours coordinating and planning the event; and the student activity and sports groups for their assistance with getting vendors set up and taking down their supplies. It truly takes a village.

What a Start
The weather may be chilly outside, but Kohler athletics is off to a hot start so far! Both the boys and girls basketball teams are currently playing very well. It has been nice to see the gym full of people supporting both the girls and boys teams, and we hope that continues throughout the season!
Girls Basketball
Girls basketball is off to one of their best starts in a long time. The team is currently 3-2, and is tied for 1st place in the Big East Conference. Their most recent wins include against Sheboygan Lutheran who they had not beaten in four years, and Sheboygan Christian. It is going to be fun to watch this team throughout the year! They have away games to finish out December, but will take on Roncalli on January 3rd for Friday night hoops. Come out and cheer loudly for the team!
Boys Basketball
The boys basketball season is also off to a great start so far. The team is currently 2-1 and has outscored opponents 250-133 through three games. The team had big wins over Sheboygan Falls, and Gibraltar, and lost in overtime to D1 school Sheboygan North 77-80. It should be fun to see how the team can progress throughout the season. They have several away games coming up, but will host a Holiday tournament on 12/27 and 12/28!

Below are the upcoming home games as well as a link with all the details. As a friendly reminder, everyone that attends the game is expected to be in the gym during the game.

The Herd traveled to Kohler to practice at the Joe Wolf Gymnasium. Coach Beno Udrih, talked with the high school boys and girls teams about Joe. His main message to the students is that life is always bigger than basketball. The teams had a chance to watch some of the Herd practice, and interact with the players.

On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, we had the honor and privilege to rename the gym the "Joe Wolf Gymnasium". It was a once in a lifetime experience for everyone involved. The Milwaukee Bucks organization provided the Rim Rockers, a DJ, their 414 crew, and an announcer. There were speeches by Mr. David Kohler, Mr. Doug Bocchini, and Mr. Jim Paschke that left everyone in the gym with goosebumps. Thank you to everyone who helped with this evening to honor the lat great Joe Wolf.
The Blue Bombers Invade Fiserv Forum
