Message From Principal Heard
Hello Trailblazers!
Did you know that September is Attendance Awareness Month? Reducing chronic absenteeism is one of our top goals at Stone Ranch this year.
Help your child be an Attendance H.E.R.O.: Here. Everyday. Ready. On-time.
Parent partnership is crucial to ensuring our students are receiving the full advantage of consistent school attendance. Students who attend school regularly are significantly more likely to achieve proficient academic levels in reading and math, do better on tests, as well as likelier to graduate and be successful in future endeavors. Help us accomplish this by:
Establishing consistent bed times and wake up times
Planning ahead to avoid scheduling appointments and vacations during school
Communicating with teachers regarding illnesses or religious/cultural holidays
Staying engaged and regularly checking in with your children about their experiences
Emphasizing the importance of attendance with your children
Reaching out to us for help to address any barriers to attendance
Thank you for your support and partnership! For more attendance tips and resources go to bit.ly/attendancehero
Warmly,
Teri Heard
Your Very Proud Principal
Safety Patrol - Starting Monday, September 16th!
We are excited to announce that our dedicated safety patrollers will begin their important work starting Monday, September 16th. Their role is vital in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students as they arrive and depart from school.
The safety patrollers will be on duty during the following times:
Morning: 7:20 AM - 7:55 AM
Afternoon: 1:50 PM - 2:15 PM
Thursdays: 12:15 PM - 12:45 PM
With the introduction of our safety patrollers, you may notice an increase in traffic around the school. We kindly ask for your patience and understanding during this transition period. To help accommodate the new traffic patterns and ensure a smooth drop-off and pick-up experience, we recommend arriving at school a bit earlier than usual until the new system becomes familiar to everyone.
Our patrollers are here to support a safe and orderly environment for all, including our parent community. Their responsibilities include managing traffic flow and assisting students in crossing streets safely, making their role essential to our school’s safety program.
Thank you for your cooperation and support as we work together to keep our school community safe. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.
Calling All Parents - Join us for the Parent Academy
Please join us for our Parent Academy speaker series. Three SRES teachers will dive deeper into the routines at The Ranch, discuss shifts in curriculum (hello Illustrative Math!), provide technology tips, and share ways to get involved at school. Parents are invited to come to the MPR at 6pm for the presentation.
We have arranged childcare in the Trailblazer center. Our Del Norte Nighthawk Ambassadors will be on hand to watch your children for this event. We are so grateful to our Ambassadors for allowing us to offer this service.
No Rescue Policy - Coming October 1st
During the first few weeks of school, we understand that students are still getting into a routine. Sometimes they forget an item (snack, class assignment, musical instrument, etc) and, for now, you are allowed to bring it to campus for them. However, beginning October 1st, we will be enacting our No Rescue Policy. This means that starting October 1st, parents/guardians will not be allowed to bring items to campus. If your child forgets something, they will need to continue their day without that item. Our only exception to this rule would be essential medication or other items.
Please help prepare your children now so that they understand what to expect beginning October 1st.
Thank you
APEX FUNDRAISING RESULTS!

Volunteers Needed!
The Stone Ranch PTA funds a variety of programs and events throughout the year. To accomplish this, we rely on the many talents and contributions of our Stone Ranch family volunteers and community sponsors.
Last school year, our PTA sponsored Read-A-Thon raised about $10,000. All of the proceeds went back to the school to replenish classroom supplies. Last year's Fun Run raised nearly $40,000. This money directly benefited the school by providing funding for STEM Lab supplies, the Trailblazer Center, an Art program, Language Arts resources, enrichment classes, family events and more.
These accomplishments are possible because of volunteers like you! We ask that you consider sharing your time, knowledge and abilities to benefit our school’s educational and enriching programs, contribute to school safety, and strengthen the relationship between our school, our students, their families and the community. Remember, no special qualifications are needed, just a little of your time!
Please take a moment to fill out our online volunteer interest form. Filling out this form does not commit you to volunteering. The program chairs will use this information to contact you as events draw near.
