Principal's Message
Dear Eagles,
What a great month it's been. We celebrated our First Responders, had a successful Because Nice Matters week capped off with an amazing BMX assembly today, and started our Safety Patrol Program, our Running Club, and our Student Council. PTA organized a successful Book Fair Family Night, Eagle-I Launch, and Family Art Night. Additionally, we had our first Movie Madness this year, are in the midst of our first big fundraiser this year, and are gearing up for Trunk or Treat (more info is in the linked PTA newsletter). As you can see, we are doing as much as we can to ensure that our staff and families have opportunities to stay involved and connected to the school.
Currently, we are about halfway to our fundraising goal. We humbly ask that you please support our fundraisers to the extent possible so that we can continue to provide all these wonderful opportunities for our kids at families at TLES. Please scroll to the bottom of this newsletter to the PTA link for more information on upcoming events and to find out how to support our current fundraiser.
In two weeks, beginning October 14 we will have Parent/Teacher Conferences. This is a great opportunity for you to sit down with your child's teacher to discuss how your child is doing so far and set goals moving forward. We ask that you please arrive on time for your conference appointment as teachers have dozens of conferences and they are scheduled back-to-back. We also ask that you come with a spirit of collaboration and cooperation knowing that our goal is the same as yours: ensuring your student has a happy, safe, and successful school experience.
Thank you as always for your support of our school and your child's education.
Sincerely,
Lani Russi
Principal, TLES

Please note: The warning bell rings at 8:45 AM. The second bell at 8:50 AM signals the start of school. Students who arrive after the second bell are considered tardy and must enter the office to get a pass.
Drop Off
Our gates open at 8:35 AM. Please do not drop students off before 8:30 AM as they have no supervision.
Students may walk or ride their bikes to school, be walked to the gate, or be dropped off in the pick-up/drop-off loop. Families may walk students to their classroom door on the first day of school only but may not enter the classroom nor linger outside to avoid a crowded situation. Starting on day 2, families may not enter campus and should drop students off in the loop or at the gate.
Please ensure you remain in your vehicle when using the drop-off loop and that you continue to pull forward to keep traffic moving. Please do not drop off your child in the loop until after you pass the crosswalk/office doors. There is no dropping off until after you pass the crosswalk and you will be asked to pull forward. Please be respectful to our staff on duty and to other families by following this process. If you would like to walk your students to their gate, please park in the lot or along the street but not in the loop.
We also ask that you please model safe and appropriate behavior for our students by using crosswalks rather than walking through traffic. Crosswalks are located in front of the office and at the stop sign near the kinder playground.
Dismissal (Pick-up)
Modified dismissal is at 12:55 PM for all students. The first day of school is a modified day.
Dismissal on regular days is 3:15 PM for grades 1-5, 12:55 PM for Early Bird TK and Kinder, and 2:25 for Late Bird TK and Kinder.
Please be courteous to others and do not leave your vehicle while you are in the loop. If you plan to meet your child at the gate, please park in the parking lot or on the street.
Please NO PARKING in the loop and again we ask that you please use crosswalks located in front of the office or near the kinder playground rather than walking through traffic. We want to keep everyone safe and model appropriate behavior for our students.
