Planning for 2024-2025 School Year:
While we wrap up one year, we set our eyes on next year. Class building and student placement is of utmost importance.
If you have any information that may aid in the placement of your child in the optimal learning environment in which he/she learns best, please share those details in an email to Jess.Garza@nisd.net no later than May 17th. Please be sure to include your child’s name and the grade they will be in for the 2024-2025 school year. Due to possible staff changes, simply requesting a teacher may not be fulfilled for variety of reasons.
Thank you parents for ALL of your support throughout the year. It is much appreciated and we cannot do this work without you. Let’s FINISH STRONG!

Drop Off and Dismissal
Parents, you are welcome to walk your child to class during the first two days of school however effective Day 3 our staff will guide your child to their classroom thereafter. You can drop off your child curbside or at the door and our staff will take over from there.
Additionally at dismissal, we highly encourage for families to remain in their vehicle at front pick-up to avoid unsafe, unnecessary crowding. For our "walk-up" parents, we will continue to use the side areas as waiting areas and we will bring your child to you.
Student Sign In and Out
When a student arrives after 7:45AM, parents need to walk their student into office to sign them in. If a student is coming from an appointment, parents will need to walk their student in and sign are student health log.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS!
-Health Services Department-
Student Birthdays- No Goodie Bags, Drinks or Balloons
Parents may send store-bought, prepackaged individually frosted cupcakes, cookies, or doughnuts only for their child’s classroom to recognize their child’s birthday (no cakes, cupcake cakes, ice cream, etc.). As an alternative to food, parents may send an item for each student in the class such as stickers, stationary, pencils, etc. These items should be safe, inexpensive, easy to pass out, and not promote any political, religious, or other slogans/beliefs. School personnel will have the sole discretion as to whether or not the items are appropriate to pass out. It is best to check with your child’s teacher in advance.
Balloons, goodie bags, or food items (other than those above) are strictly prohibited. When purchasing cupcakes, be aware that there are a number of students on campus that have food allergies. Check with your child’s teacher before sending cupcakes to school to ensure items sent can be taken to the classroom. Cupcakes are to be dropped off at the school office and our staff will deliver them to the classrooms near the end of the school day. The cupcakes must not be eaten in the cafeteria and will be passed out to the children at the very end of the school day in order to limit disruption to instructional time. Parents and family members are not allowed to deliver cupcakes to the classroom.

Buses and Boundaries
Northside ISD assigns students to schools according to the street address where the student resides. Our Boundaries and Buses Information System will provide you with the name and address of the schools serving your area. Just enter the student’s street number and street name to search for school assignment, bus route information, and any future Board adopted boundary changes.
For general boundary information, attendance area maps for each elementary, middle & high schools are listed on the campus sites.
While one-on-one communication is the best, in a district as large as Northside ISD it is sometimes difficult. Because we want our parents to stay informed, NISD has several ways that parents and other interested citizens can stay informed about the successes and challenges of San Antonio’s premier school district of choice, as well as find out news about their children’s schools.
