A Note from Your Principals
As we shared back in the fall, this year Eli Terry had many goals to help strengthen our school community and students' educational experience.
One of the big goals that we partnered with teachers on, is to ensure that there is communication with families regarding specific feedback on their child’s strengths/areas for growth, as well as strategies to support/extend their learning at home.
Our goal was that 90% or more of parents/families would respond favorably to our spring survey question: “I communicate with my child's teacher(s) about what I can do to help my child learn” and,
"The school communicates consistently about my child's academic progress."
Our hope is that throughout the year your child(ren)'s teacher(s) utilized a variety of strategies and communications that provide you a glimpse of your child's strengths, goals, areas for growth, and ways you could help support learning at home!
We are pleased to report that on our Spring 2024 Family Survey, 94% and 95% of families responded favorably to the questions above. That means we exceeded our goal!
Other data related to our school-home communication:
- 97% of families believe teachers give helpful comments on their child's schoolwork.
- 98% of families feel comfortable talking to teachers and staff at ET.
- 100% of families feel well informed about what is going on at ET.
- 98% of families believe the principal/associate principal is available to parents and willing to listen.
- 98% of families believe there is an opportunity or venue to share feedback about ET.
You can see all the results of the survey data here, including comparative year-over-year data, as well as comparison to the district average!
We are incredibly proud of this partnership with all of you but certainly there are always areas for improvement! One goal we have for next year is increasing the number of families that respond to the spring survey. This year's results represent only 64 respondents!
As we plan for next year, if you have feedback on ways we can improve, please do not hesitate to share!
