We enjoyed a beautiful Grandparent's and Grandfriend's Day on Monday! This is one my favorite days, as there is simply so much love everywhere! Smiles, hugs, joy...it's great to see! Thank you to Mrs. Brungard, Mrs. Burns, and Mrs. Gerber for volunteering their time, and to Deacon Tom, Shirley and Mrs. Brezler for stepping in as 'guest' grand-friends.

During the month of October, our saints-in-the-making will be learning about Saint Francis of Assisi and Blessed Carlo Acutis. We are also 'living like Saint Vincent de Paul' by demonstrating charity. We will be collecting cereal boxes for the food bank until Race for Education on October 24.

The schedule came home this weekend for our Parent - Teacher Conferences on Thursday, November 7. This is a non-school day for students. Students are also off school the next day (Friday, November 8) so that our teachers can continue their professional development in the Science of Reading.

Oktoberfest:

Initially, we had planned to chance off raffle baskets created by each classroom. In an effort to make things easier on everyone, we will be including prizes of scratch off lottery tickets and gift cards to local restaurants and stores with our other donated prizes. If you are able to donate either lotto tickets or gift cards, at any amount, it is greatly appreciated.

Also, please let us know if you are able to volunteer to help the night of the event (Saturday, October 12).

Race for Education is Saint John School's biggest fundraiser of the school year. Over the past 15 years, we have raised over $220,000 for our students and its success helps to limit the need for additional school fundraisers.
