Help keep everyone healthy!
Please think of others when your child is sick. Fevers can affect more than the sick person. Per SVUSD policy, any child with a fever of 100.4°F or higher, must stay home and be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. Taking the time to recuperate not only benefits your child, it can help keep others at school from getting sick too.
School of Choice is open!
Almost all of our Simi Valley Schools are considered School of Choice (SOC). (The standing exceptions to SOC are Hollow Hills Elementary School and Vista Elementary School, which are Fundamental schools; Arroyo Elementary School's Dual Language Academy; and Santa Susana High School, which is a magnet school.) As long as the school is not filled to its capacity with existing students and incoming neighborhood students, students living outside the neighborhood boundaries of a school may apply to enroll in that school, and the school may accept these students until the school is filled to capacity. If there are more applications than there are available spots for interested students, the school will conduct a random lottery to select the number of students they are able to accept.
(Excerpt from simivalleyusd.org)
New families that are not part of the Crestview Elementary neighborhood school boundaries can click here to start the School of Choice application process.
For more information, visit the Simi Valley Unified School District website.
Deadline for School of Choice applications is Friday, February 7 @ 4:00p.m.
SOC School Tours Schedule
Any parents considering Crestview Elementary for their child(ren), are welcomed to attend a school tour to get to know our campus, the programs we offer and our wonderful staff that makes the magic happen for our kiddos.
School tours will be offered every Tuesday in January at 9:00a.m.
It was wonderful seeing so many of you at our PTA Pulse meeting last week! As we start planning events for the remainder of the year, I welcome your ideas and feedback, so that we can continue offering the best of the best to our students.
We are starting to plan our Read Across America FREE Book Exchange for March (please start saving your books to donate to this incredible event!), and we are also starting the plans for Crestview Elementary's 60th BIRTHDAY PARTY happening on April 25!
We are looking for food/beverage donations for the next few Staff Appreciation events. Please let us know if you are able to help. Even a package of bagels or a case of sparkling water would be great!
Want to help be a part of these events? We need volunteers!
Be sure to keep up with all that PTA is doing by following
our social pages on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/crestview.simi.cougars) and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/crestviewelementarypta/) for all of the latest updates!
