Dear Families of Second Grade,
We had another great week in grade 2!! This week we practiced comparing stories. Our class read a story called “Wagon Wheels”. It’s a story about a family living on a prairie in Kansas. We traded facts about what we learned last week from our story about Cowboys to this week’s story about traveling by wagon and surviving life on a prairie surrounded by dangerous elements. We also talked about comparing genre’s, from informational text to realistic fiction. The students did very well!
We continued learning fractions in math. The students did really well with all our little math projects and learning about halves and quarters.

(I think I say this every week but its true!)
