Upcoming Communication Event, December 10, 3-6pm
Our next school communication event will be on Tuesday, December 10 from 3-6pm. Opportunities to sign up will be available on ParentVue beginning one week before on Dec. 3. Please prioritize 1-3 teachers for in-person conferences in order for there to be open space for as many people as possible. Opportunities to connect with your child's other teachers can come via email or phone calls during the year.
Directions to sign up through ParentVue can be found in this VIDEO. All conferences will take place in person, but you can request a virtual conference from the teacher if that is easier for you.
Lunch Bunch Book Club
Students in all grades have an opportunity to join the Lunch Bunch Book Club during their lunch period. It began in October and we meet twice a month on Tuesdays to talk about books they’ve enjoyed, learn about new books to try, create book suggestions for peers, and more. It is so much fun hearing the students’ enthusiasm for reading and watching them engage in discussions. We still have room for new members! Students are welcome to try it one time or join for the year.
Please email Ms. Sypherd, the school library media specialist, at carrie.sypherd@moundsviewschools.org if you have any questions or your student would like the Google form emailed to them to sign up. Happy Reading!
Student Council Candy Grams are Back!
Candy Grams are candy canes and kind messages you can buy at lunch on Wednesdays in December for a friend (or yourself) that will be delivered during 7th period on Fridays.
Cost: 1 Candy Gram for 50 cents or 3 for $1
The funds raised by StuCo from the sale of Candy Grams will support school events, like the 8th grade SnoDaze Dance and the Spring Party! Come spread some kindness and support a great cause!
Parent Toolkit
"Finding the Magic in Middle School" by Chris Balme
This book has become a new favorite for me as we all work to understand pre-adolescence and the magic of this stage of curiosity, exploration, and growth.
From Amazon excerpt: "How can parents stay close with their children through middle school? How do we help middle schoolers discover who they are, enjoy friendships, and manage their growing emotions? What kinds of learning experiences will keep them curious and motivated?"
If these are questions you're thinking about as a parent or caregiver, consider taking a look at this book. Find other book and podcast recommendations HERE.
Yearbooks
The memories. The friendships. The achievements. This yearbook is like no other, because your student is like no other. Save this year's special moments with a yearbook.
*Minimum purchase requirements and eligibility restrictions apply.
