CNE High School Family Newsletter
October 13th, 2024
Week of October 13th, 2024
Good evening CNE Families!
As you likely know, tomorrow begins the 2nd Quarter of the school year! I believe that the 1st and 3rd Quarters of the school year are the most challenging, and I'm excited and proud to see how hard
our students, staff, and family worked throughout the first 9 weeks of the school year. I look forward to more great experiences - inside and outside of the classroom - for our students for these next 9 weeks!
As our teachers wrap up entering final quarter grades, please know that it's our goal to ensure that our grading practices model fairness, balance, and the ability for students to demonstrate their learning and their growth. Please let us know - now or at any time - if you have any questions about your student's grades.
Have a Great Week!
WHAT'S NEW?
New Work-Based Learning Opportunities
CNE High School and the Hamilton County Educational Service Center have partnered up to introduce LinkedUp Connect – a new online platform that connects students with real-life work-based learning opportunities. Through LinkedUp Connect, students can explore pre-apprenticeships, internships, job shadowing, community service, and more, all tailored to their interests.
These experiences not only prepare students for the workforce but also play a key role in meeting Ohio’s graduation requirements. Encourage your student to take advantage of this innovative tool and explore the opportunities waiting for them with LinkedUp Connect! This is an exciting opportunity for our students! Look for more information coming soon!
Student Tardies to School
As we move from the 1st quarter to the 2nd quarter, one of the things we will be monitoring more closely is student tardies to 1st Bell. If your student is having trouble consistently getting to school on time, please let us know if there's anything we can do to help support!
Report Cards for 2024-2025 School Year
This past week, we shared a letter to our families indicating that, in an effort to be more fiscally responsible, to work more efficiently, and align our practices across the district, we are going to make a change to the traditional method of sending home physical copies of report cards with our students. We also know that it can sometimes be the case that these physical copies do not always find their way home, and we know that parents do have access to view their student's grades through Progress Book.
If parents/guardians would still like to receive a physical copy of their student's report card, we ask that you COMPLETE THIS FORM no later than this WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 16th. If we do not have a record of your request for a physical copy, we will not be sending one home.
Class of 2025 Information
Starting this week, we will be having a "Senior" section for our weekly newsletters. Please check this link on a regular basis for all updates concerning Class of 2025 announcements and activities!
In Case You Missed It
Parent-Teacher Conferences Update
As noted in last week's newsletter, we are making some adjustments to our original plans for Parent-Teacher Conferences, and that involves adding an additional night for conferences. The schedule will be:
- Tuesday, Oct. 29th: 2:30pm - 6:00pm
- This evening will still have the "Teach N' Treat" Student Led Conferences theme, and the original time has been shortened.
- Monday, Nov. 4th: 2:30pm - 6:00pm
- This evening will present the traditional conferences approach, with families having the chance to schedule one on one conferences with teachers. Parents will have the option of having these conferences either in person or virtual.
If you'd like to sign up for a conference (for November 4th) with one or more of your student's teachers, USE THIS LINK. When you click on it, simply select your student's teachers for the available time slot that you'd like to meet with them. These will be one on one conferences, so please remember to stagger your times.
After selecting the time(s), click "Save and Continue" at the bottom, then enter either "In Person" or "Virtual" in the comment section. If you're requesting virtual, our teachers will send you a Google Meet invite using the email we have on file.
