Tharptown Elementary School

I hope all of you had a great day off school and enjoyed time with family and friends! It is always a great opportunity to remember the sacrifices that were made so that we can live in our great country. It is also a great time to reflect on how their sacrifices have impacted us as individuals.

When you really think about it, we have the opportunity to make a great impact on any student we serve each day. Right now you are educating our future doctors, nurses, firemen, police officers, teachers, electricians, mechanics, and military personnel. The impact you have is limitless and the potential is great. When teaching elementary students, it is easy to forget that one day these students will actually be adults with careers. Everything we do in the classroom helps prepare those students for their future success.

So today, I challenge you to look at the faces of your students in your classes and imagine them as adults. Ask yourself....if someone asked (any student) how I contributed as a teacher to their success, what would they say?
