Thanks for a great week! It was wonderful to see all of our students, staff and families coming back to school! We have a had a smooth start to the school year and it is so exciting to see all the smiles as students learn and make new friends!

Hawthorne Families -

The best, safest place to drop off students is in the Parent Drop Off Zone, just drive up the alley from Calkins and then exit by turning south onto Boulevard. We have a duty at the drop off and students can walk onto the blacktop to line up or across the blacktop to the cafeteria for breakfast. 1st and 2nd grade students walk across the blacktop and up the hill to line up at the top of the hill. The time before school IS NOT A RECESS. It's a time to head to your line are and "chat and chill" with friends, then we can all start the day in a calm, organized way.

PLEASE BE SURE THE YOU DO NOT DROP OFF in the BUS LANE -

we have 3 busses coming this year!

Our goal is to have all our students in line and ready to go in at 8:55 a.m.! We realize that sometimes things come up and you will be late. If you are late and you arrive later than 9:05, you will have to BRING YOUR STUDENT IN TO THE OFFICE AND SIGN THEM IN.

For the 2024-25 school year we will be EMPHASING ATTENDANCE by giving out awards for consistent attendance every trimester and by giving out prize-drawing tickets for students with great attendance. We will be fundraising and soliciting donations for our prizes, so if you or a business you know wants to donate, please let the office know.

This year Hawthorne is home to all of the ECSE (Early Childhood Special Education) Preschool classes. Our ECSE classes will start on Tuesday, 9/3/24. We are happy to welcome all of those new kids and their fabulous staff:
