Some students planted two raised bed gardens this June. If you would like to help maintain the gardens this summer, please see the sign up!

I’m writing to inform you that we are upgrading the district email system. Starting Friday, June 6, 2025 you will no longer receive emails from addresses ending in @swindsor.k12.ct.us. Moving forward, teacher and staff emails will come from addresses ending in @southwindsorschools.org. User names will remain the same. Here’s an example of how a new complete email address will look: zsmith@southwindsorschools.org

We are intentionally making this change now to ensure any issues are identified before staff members leave for summer break. This will ensure a smooth start to the 2025-2026 school year. For your convenience, you can continue to use current email addresses for the remainder of the school year, as these emails will automatically be forwarded to the new email addresses.

After (6/6), please send all email communication to mdixon@southwindsorschools.org (for me) and all other SWPS staff will have new email addresses as well. First initial, then last name, then @southwindsorschools.org

The CONNECTing School to Care IV Students initiative is a joint initiative between the Department of Children and Families (DCF), Carelon Behavioral Health, Yale, FAVOR, and the Child Health and Development Institute (CHDI). These organizations recognize that summer can be a particularly challenging time for children and families to get connected to behavioral and mental health services. Oftentimes the connections that parents and guardians have with school staff are the ones they rely on the most.

Summer is a great time to rest and recharge, but it is also a time that can feel very isolating. Through the CONNECT IV initiative, these partner organizations have created a one-page resource document that you can share with your families via email or ParentSquare. The idea is to get this out before the summer recess so that families feel well suited for the time away from school.

All student bus information will be posted to your Parent Portal in mid-August. This will include the student(s) bus number, bus stop location, pickup time and drop-off time.

Additionally, the 2025-2026 Transportation Information Form (TIF) is now available for completion. A completed TIF is required for all SWPS students, except for Role Model POP children. This electronic form can be found by logging into your PowerSchool Parent Portal account, located in the "Forms" section. If you have any difficulty in accessing your account, please contact the school's main office for assistance.

Bus stops are determined by this form therefore, it is extremely important this form is completed no later than June 30th to allow for the timely creation of the 2025-2026 bus routes. Please know this form can be updated and/or changed at any time however, no changes will be processed between the moratorium dates of 8/20/25 to 9/03/25. Please allow five (5) days to process any changes.

To avoid any confusion, only the 2025-2026 TIF will be available for completion after April 30th. If transportation changes are needed for the current school year or if you have any questions regarding the TIF, please email or call Marlene Pouliot, Transportation Coordinator, at mpouliot@swindsor.k12.ct.us or (860) 291-1252.
