MECA Parent & Caregiver Update
May 15th, 2024
Join us this evening!
Dear Parents and Caregivers of MECA Students,
The elections for PTA are May 15th at 7:00. The link to the meeting can be found below.
We need at least 10 parents at the meeting to hold the election. If not, the PTA cannot continue based on DOE rules.
Please attend the meeting and vote for the 3 people running. It's also worth noting that all three are going to be senior parents next year and we will need at least 3 more parents to have a PTA next May. I recommend some current parents of Freshman and Sophomores nominate themselves for Co-Positions this year and work with us next year so the PTA can continue when we graduate out.
Not only is the commitment not very much, only an hour a week most of the year, but you learn things about the school, the staff and the curriculum that you just will not get from general e-mails that are sent out during the year. In addition, there cannot be a Student Leadership Team (SLT) without a PTA and that group actually determines via the Comprehensive Educational Plan how the school is run, what things the school needs to focuses on, and how spending is applied.
So please join us on Wednesday, consider joining us on the Executive Board, and vote for our PTA positions so we can continue to have a PTA.
