Spring Musical Theatre
The Rogers Theatre Company is pleased to announce the performance dates and times of its Spring Musical, āThe 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.ā This Tony Award winning, fast-paced, hilarious, PG-13 musical will be presented in conjunction with the MHS Drama Club in the Middletown High School cafetorium at 7:30pm, tomorrow, Friday, May 3rd and Saturday, May 4th. You donāt want to miss this memorable production! Tickets will be available at the door for $10 general admission. See you there
Junior Prom ~ Saturday, May 18th ~ Tickets on sale now
The Class of 2025 will be selling Junior Prom tickets during crew outside the cafeteria for $40 through tomorrow, Friday, May 3rd. Guest forms are due May 10. If you have any questions, reach out to any of the class officers.
Senior Prom ~ Wednesday, June 12th ~ Tickets on sale April 30th
Senior Prom will be held on Wednesday, June 12th at Ocean Cliff. Tickets are on sale until Friday, May 10th. Tickets are $20 for seniors and $40 for guests and will only be sold during CREW in Room 362.
May is Menth Health Awareness Month
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a national observance started in 1949 by Mental Health America to bring attention to the importance of mental wellbeing. Across the country, individuals and organizations step up to raise awareness of and help address the challenges faced by people living with mental health conditions.
On May 14 at 1:00 PM EST, learn about the science behind youth screen addiction and how to spot the signs. Also, discover how screen habits like excessive gaming, social media scrolling, sexting, and pornography.
Then on May 22 at 11:00 AM EST (NEW TIME), find out how to have a healthy balance with screens at home. Everyone will be equipped with practical tips and actionable steps for using positive technology tools, setting boundaries, and managing the impact of multiple screens.
Whether you're a parent, educator, prevention specialist, or a helping professional these webinars will arm you with knowledge and strategies for recognizing potential problems and creating a balanced digital lifestyle.
IYRS Summer Boatbuilding Program
Students ages 14 and 15 are invited to APPLY for a hands-on program where they will work in teams over the course of 5 weeks to build two cedar strip planked canoes with woven seats. Students will learn workplace readiness skills for the marine industry including shop safety, project planning, leadership skills, teamwork, basic hand tool operation, resume writing, and the importance of being on time to a work site. Participants will launch and paddle their canoes in Newport Harbor at the conclusion of the program. Limited to 10 participants. Participants receive a stipend of $150 per week, based on attendance. This is a 5-week program and students are expected to attend each day.
Schedule: 9am-2pm, Monday through Thursday

Summer Institute of Politics | Salve Regina University
The Summer Institute of Politics at Salve Regina University's Pell Center is a weeklong residential program that offers promising high school students the opportunity to grapple with great challenges. Scholarships - 04/29/24
Many of the scholarships listed are online scholarships. The general rule is if the scholarship listed has a link that means the application is online. If the scholarship on the list does not have an online link then the paper application is in Guidance in the filing cabinet under the "Scholarship" sign! (To the right of Ms. Gorman's desk)
For every scholarship you apply for you will need to fill out a Blue Transcript Request form. Those forms are available in Guidance on the table in front of Ms. Gorman's desk. If you are not able to come to Guidance you can email Ms. Gorman @ joanngorman@npsri.net and she will forward you an electronic fillable form.
