Brindley Selected as Supervisor of the Year
Spring Brindley was named the 2024-2025 Supervisor of the Year for Lincoln County Schools! With a distinguished career spanning over two decades, Mrs. Brindley has made significant contributions to the field of education and has played a pivotal role in enhancing the educational experiences of students within her district.
Mrs. Brindley is married to Paul, and together they have a wonderful daughter, Emory. Their family is a source of support, and Mrs. Brindley's dedication to education is reflected in her commitment to nurturing the next generation.
Beginning her twenty-second year in education, Mrs. Brindley has dedicated her professional life to fostering learning and growth. Her journey began in the classroom, where she spent seven years as a classroom teacher, shaping the minds and futures of her students. Her leadership abilities soon became evident, leading her to serve as an assistant principal for three years, followed by four years as a principal. For the past nine years, Mrs. Brindley has excelled as a district supervisor, guiding and supporting educators in their pursuit of excellence.
Mrs. Brindley earned her Bachelor of Agriculture Science in Agricultural Economics and Business from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 2001. She then pursued a Master of Education from the University of Georgia, Athens, in 2003, followed by an Education Specialist in Administration and Supervision from Middle Tennessee State University in 2009.
Mrs. Brindley's certifications include Professional Administrator PreK-12, Vocational Agriculture, Agriscience for grades 7-12, and Biology for grades 7-12. Dr Bill Heath stated, “her commitment to educational excellence, combined with her extensive experience, has made a profound impact on her district.”
Pickens Named Principal of the Year
Lincoln County Schools has announced that Dr. Amanda Pickens has been named the 2024-2025 Principal of the Year! As the principal of Highland Rim School, Dr. Pickens has made a positive impact on the lives of her students and the school community.
Born and raised in Madison County, Alabama, Dr. Pickens is deeply rooted in her community. She resides there with her husband, Scott, and their three children: Christa (17), Bella-Kate (11), and Max (5). Her family is a source of inspiration and support, motivating her to strive for excellence in education.
Dr. Pickens's educational journey began at Athens State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She furthered her education by obtaining a master’s degree in Teaching and Learning from Nova Southeastern University. Her passion for leadership and commitment to educational excellence led her to complete her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at East Tennessee State University.
With over a decade of experience in the Lincoln County Schools, Dr. Pickens has demonstrated her dedication to teaching and leadership. She began her career in 2011 at Flintville Elementary, where she taught kindergarten and first grade, and served as the K-2 Teacher Leader. In 2017, Dr. Pickens took on the role of assistant principal at Unity School, where she honed her leadership skills and positively influenced the school environment.
In 2020, Dr. Pickens joined Highland Rim School as an assistant principal, and her leadership journey culminated in her appointment as principal in 2022. Dr. Bill Heath stated, “she continues to inspire not only her students but also her colleagues, making a lasting impact on the field of education”.
Job Fair - April 3, 2025
Lincoln County Schools will host its annual Job Fair on Thursday, April 3rd. This event will be held in the Lincoln Central Academy library from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. All job seekers who are interested in pursuing a fulfilling career in education and support staff roles are encouraged to attend.
The job fair will feature a diverse range of positions available in our district, including teachers, educational assistants, school nutrition staff, technology personnel, school bus drivers, and various other roles that contribute to the success of our students and community. Whether you are a seasoned professional or just starting your career, there are opportunities for everyone.
Dr. John Fanning, Assistant Director of Schools, stated, “This is a great opportunity for those interested in working in the system. We encourage individuals who are passionate about education and eager to make a difference in the lives of our students to come and explore the available positions.”
During the job fair, attendees will have the chance to meet directly with school principals and department heads. This personal interaction allows prospective employees to inquire about specific roles, learn more about the unique culture of Lincoln County Schools, and express their interest in joining our dedicated team. It’s an excellent opportunity for networking and establishing meaningful connections that can lead to a rewarding career in education.

Lincoln County High School Mock Interview Event
Community and industry leaders participated in Lincoln County High School's annual Mock Interview Event, engaging with senior students from the Government and Economics classes. This program provides students with an excellent opportunity to practice their interview skills while receiving valuable feedback from local professionals in various industries.
Community leaders collaborated with students, delivering important insights to boost their interviewing skills. This experiential learning is crucial as students prepare for their transition into the workforce.
The reactions from both volunteers and students were overwhelmingly encouraging. Students left the event feeling uplifted and excited about their experiences, while community leaders conveyed their enthusiasm with comments such as: “I was ready to hire him within the first five minutes of the interview!”, "Truly impressive!", “We can't wait to bring her on board for our internship program!”, “This student would be a fantastic addition to any team, in any position!”
We extend our sincere gratitude to all the volunteers who generously invested their time in shaping our students' futures.
Pre-K & Kindergarten Registration
Lincoln County Schools Pre-K and Kindergarten registration for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year is currently open. Please register your child at the school you are zoned to attend. Pre-K parents can also register at Lincoln Central Academy.
If a child will be four (4) years old on or before August 15, 2025, he or she is eligible for the Lincoln County Pre-K program in the fall. Pre-K seats are limited and registration does not guarantee enrollment. Approval for the program is based on State guidelines and the order the registration documents are received.
Children that are five (5) years old on or before August 15, 2025, are eligible for kindergarten in the fall and should also register beginning February 10, 2025.
The following records should be brought to registration:
Proof of residency (driver’s license, utility bill, mail)
Record of the child’s birth
Current physical/health examination
Current immunization record or religious exemption
Income Verification - Pre-K only

Families needing assistance with registering a Pre-K or Kindergarten child can visit or call their zoned school or Lincoln Central Academy. Parents can also find out the school zone of a county residence by contacting the Lincoln County Transportation Department at 931-433-5733.

Now Hiring School Bus Drivers and Substitute Drivers
TO BE A BUS DRIVER FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW:
1) DOT physical - Hometown Medical (Park City), Falcon Family Healthcare, Dr. Gafford
2) Get a 2C form from garage (1010 Hedgemont Avenue, Fayetteville) and a book to study to take a CDL test at DMV.
3) Test for CDL Class B with Passenger and School Bus endorsements. There are several tests.
4) We’ll set you up to do the mandatory Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) online. This is a new requirement by the Federal Motor Safety Carriers Association. This involves watching video presentations and taking quizzes.
5) We’ll train you to do all the necessary skills items for the actual school bus test… pre-trip, air brakes, driving, backing, etc.
6) Fingerprint & background check and pre-employment drug test.
