Procedures for School Visitors
Visitor Aware
Just a reminder, if visiting any FAPS building and going anywhere beyond the office, you need to sign in at the Visitor Aware Kiosks in each building.
Visitor Aware is a visitor management and screening service designed specifically to help secure our schools. Visitor Aware is used to ensure that only safe visitors are granted access to this location. This provides an additional layer of security for your children by validating the identities of anyone entering the premises, determining if they are a potential threat, and keeping accurate records of all school visits.
Please review the short "How to" videos and corresponding Infographics, as well as the Parent Welcome Packet for more information (links below).
Finally, be sure to have your Driver's License in hand the first time you visit our school so that you can get registered into our system. Once you have registered at a school, you are registered at all buildings throughout our district.
Thank you for your help with keeping our students and staff safe! #WeAreFenton

Outside Food Deliveries - No Allowed For Safety Reasons
For the safety and nutritional needs of students as well as to reduce disruptions to the educational process, food deliveries to school grounds through outside delivery services (i.e. Uber Eats, Grub Hub, Door Dash, etc). and direct foodservice vendors (i.e. Panera, Jimmy John’s, Dominoes, etc.) must be pre-approved by school administrators.
Prior approval must also be obtained for parents wanting to deliver outside food items to his/her student and friends as this competes with what is sold in the cafeteria as part of the federal school lunch programs, creates confusion, incorrectly implies students can order food for delivery to the cafeteria, and arrangements must be made to find an alternate location for food consumption for the group.

Positivity Thursdays
FHS helps improve students' social emotional health by promoting "Positivity Thursdays". What began with former Student Resource Officer, Tom Cole, has continued under Assistant Principal, Laura Lemke, watch.
Every Thursday morning, students can get stickers and other small trinkets (pencils & erasers today) to get their day started off in a positive way. Students tend to put the stickers on his/her planners, notebooks, phone cases, and personal laptops.

MiABLE - Encourages Those With Disabilities to Open an Account
MiABLE account owners lead by example to inspire others to open disability savings accounts
In recognition of the 34th anniversary of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) in July, the Michigan Department of Treasury enlisted the help of MiABLE account owners in its ongoing campaign to encourage others with disabilities to open their own MiABLE savings accounts.
"Just as the ADA has provided legal security and equality of opportunity for people with disabilities for more than three decades, MiABLE continues to open the door for financial security and opportunity for people with disabilities and their families," said R. Scott de Varona, MiABLE program director. "MiABLE benefits thousands of Michiganders every day, and the best testimonial for opening a MiABLE account comes from the people who already have seen what it can do for their financial freedom."
For more information or to open a MiABLE account, go to the MiABLE website at: https://savewithable.com/mi/home.html
