BMS Families,
Welcome back from Spring Break! I hope you had a great break and were able to spend some time doing things you enjoy. We are excited to have our community come back together and engage in meaningful learning experiences this spring.
This week, our 8th grade students will kick off the MCA testing season by completing the Science MCA test. Please see information below regarding the MCA and NWEA schedule.
On Thursday, April 3, our Parent Ambassadors will meet in the main office at 5:00 p.m to discuss plans for Teacher Appreciation Week. Anyone is welcome to join!

Ms. Caron brings creativity, passion, and positivity to Boeckman every day! Her learners love attending her class, where she not only teaches art but also builds strong relationships and fosters creativity.
Her impact goes beyond the classroom, making BMS a better place for all. Thank you, Ms. Caron, for everything you do!
MCA Tests Approaching
MCA Tests Approaching
Farmington Area Public Schools students in grades 3-8 take state standardized tests each spring called the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA) or the alternate Minnesota Test of Academic Skills (MTAS). The MCA (or MTAS) assessment is designed to test students against the state academic standards in reading, math and science. There is a link to the Opt Out information for both the MCA tests on the left side of the webpage, or for convenience, there is a direct link here.
Specific Dates of Testing:
- April 3 & 4 - 8th grade only - MCA Science in regular science class
- April 16 & April 17 – Math MCA: we will follow MCA Alternate Schedule
- April 23 & April 24 – Reading MCA: we will follow MCA Alternate Schedule
- Week of April 28-May 2 – Math NWEA in math classrooms
- Week of May 5-May 9 – Reading NWEA in language arts classrooms
- Week of May 12-May 16 – NWEA make ups
Community Education Family Dance
Step into a Candyland Wonderland at Farmington Community Ed’s 2nd annual Family Dance! Dress your best and enjoy an evening of dancing, sweet treats, and a special take-home favor. Capture the memories at our fun photo booth!
BMS Bowling Night!
The Parent Ambassadors are hosting a night of bowling to support teachers at BMS! It is $10 per person for one hour of bowling, including shoe rental. The Parent Ambassadors will receive a portion of the funds for both bowling and food sales to support initiatives throughout the school year! Here is a link to sign up:
