News from Ms. Ricks, Principal
Happy Thursday! Our Explorers are off to a great start and it has been a joy having everyone back in our school building! Our amazing staff have begun to build strong relationships and we can't wait to see our students' growth take off...the sky is the limit!
Arrival and dismissal have been getting better as students and parents are becoming more and more accustomed to our procedures. For morning arrival, please do not drop your child off prior to 8:10 a.m. as there are not staff on duty to monitor. Please pull as as far forward as possible and make sure your child has all of his/her belongings and is ready to exit the vehicle once it stops. For afternoon dismissal, please be sure your family number tag is hanging from your rearview mirror so that it is visible to school staff. Again, please pull as far forward as possible and be ready to depart after your child is loaded as soon as the car in front of you begins to move. Car seats should be on the right side to aid your child with getting in and out of the vehicle and parents should stay in their car throughout car rider arrival and dismissal. We have also noticed an increase in parents who park along streets around the school and then "walk" to drop off/pick up their child. Our students who utilize our biker/walker arrival and dismissal must walk or bike all the way to and from school; if students get in/out of a vehicle then "car rider" should be their mode of arrival/dismissal. Animals should not be brought onto school property at our biker/walker areas. We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding.
We have had lots of lunch visitor responses and we are excited to welcome lunch visitors to campus beginning September 3, 2024. If you have any questions regarding our new lunch visitor procedures, please feel free to call the front office at 281 234 1700.
Tomorrow we will begin practicing a series of safety drills with our students and staff. It is very important for us to teach and practice what to do in the event of an emergency situation with our students. Safety is a top priority at Wolman Elementary and we are so fortunate to have staff members who take emergency preparedness seriously; they are the absolute best!
Next week we will be kicking off our annual Read-a-Thon and next Friday we will have our House Kick Off Pep Rally and Parade! We would love for parents to join in the parade fun; please see the flyer and map below! Please review the newsletter sections below for more important upcoming event information and for PTA news! We love our Explorers and appreciate you sharing them with us! Have an amazing rest of your week!

Lunch is a fun time of day for our Explorers and many LOVE when a special visitor attends this fun time of day! Our lunch periods at RJWE are 30 minutes. As a reminder only parents/guardians, non-school aged children and immediate family listed on the 24-25 Lunch Visitors Parent Permission form are able to visit for lunch. Due to limited space, visitors are limited to 2 visitors per student. Please note the following: Each parent must sign up for their own seat and a separate seat for any non school age siblings. PLEASE REMEMBER when signing up to include your child's name and teacher in the comments. All visitors must show a physical, hard copy government issued ID (driver's license or passport) when you arrive for lunch. We ask that lunch visitors attend once per week to allow everyone an opportunity to have lunch with their child. If you are not able to come to lunch after you signed up, please remove your name from the list The following links will guide you in signing up for lunch times to visit your child and with providing lunch visitor permission. Please call 281 234 1700 with any questions. Thank you!
It's time for the Ray and Jamie Wolman Elementary Read-A-Thon!

Bus Information for the 2024-25 School Year
Your patience is appreciated very much as transportation works out the various bus routes during these first days of school. If your child is a bus rider, please review the information below carefully. Please talk with your child regarding expectations for the bus. Keeping hands to self, staying seated, appropriate language and listening to the bus driver are essential to ensuring a safe and efficient time on the bus. Your child will be required to wear a tag and scan it upon entering and exiting the bus; if he/she loses this tag, parents will need to purchase a new one. You will be able to track your child's bus using the SMART app; please click on the link below for instructions on how to download. There is also a web query below that you can use to determine if your child is able to ride the bus according to your place of residence. Thank you for your continued support and if you have any questions, please call 281 234 1700.
If you were enrolled in Katy ISD last school year, please click on the link below to download the SMART tag APP and sign up and find your bus route.
