Girls Swim and Dive 400 Freestyle Relay Takes 15th at State
Wrapping up an amazing season, the girls swim and dive team competed at the Class 2 State Tournament on Feb. 15 and 16. Proving they could hold their own against schools from Kansas City and St. Louis, the girls brought home a 15th place finish in the 400 Freestyle Relay. Junior Brooke Guyer placed ninth overall in the 200 Individual Medley and Sophomore Grace Shaw placed 12th overall in the 50 Freestyle. Congrats ladies on an amazing season!
6 Boys Wrestlers Qualify for State
A massive congrats to congrats to our six boys wrestling state qualifiers. Logan Luder, Caden Harrington, Dayton Moison, Ruben Arvizu all qualified for the state tournament after competing in the Districts in Kansas City on Feb. 17! Keaton Hurst and Johnny Williams also qualified for state and won out in their weight classes to become district champions! Congrats to all our wrestlers on amazing season!
This week OHS senior Ella Counts as been selected as our Tiger of the Week! Ella is the current president of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and recently took first place in Hospitality and Event Management at a district competition, according to FBLA Sponsor Matt Fevold.
"Ella does a good job of communication and organizing FBLA events and activities for all FBLA members," Fevold said. "Last year she was a national qualifier in her event."

This week, our boys wrestling state qualifiers have been selected as Athletes of the Week! Logan Luder, Caden Harrington, Dayton Moison, Ruben Arvizu, Keaton Hurst and Johnny Williams all qualified for the state tournament after competing on Feb. 16 in the district tournament in Kansas City. Keaton and Johnny were district champions after winning out in their weight class. These wrestlers will now travel to Columbia for the state tournament on Feb. 23!

This week, our OHS Sophomore Grace Shaw has been selected as an Athlete of the Week! Grace is a member of the Ozark Girls Swim and Dive team, and recently took 12th place in the 50 Freestyle race at the Missouri Class 2 Girls Swim and Dive Meet on Feb. 17. She swam third in the 400 Freestyle Relay that placed 15th overall!

This week, senior Laura Wolfe has been selected as our Artist of the Week! Laura is one of Ozark's many talented musicians. She was recently not only named first chair in the All-District Honor band for French horn, but also received all-state band recognition as an honorable mention. She's been an all-state honoree for the past two years.

Ozark DECA Students Shine at District Competition
Ozark High School Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) recently competed against 14 other schools in a district competition at Missouri State University and came home with multiple champions and state qualifiers.
“Ozark had 100 competitors and brought home a combined 38 medals or plaques,” DECA Sponsor Grant Jenkins said. “Five of our students were district champions and 20 Ozark students qualified for State competition.”
Congrats to all who competed. Those who qualified for state will travel to Kansas City and compete March 3-5.

Jazz Band Students Bring Home Multiple Awards from Area Festival
OHS Jazz Band students had stellar performances at their first festival of the season at Parkview High School on Feb. 17. Both of 10-12 grade jazz groups competed and came home with multiple awards. Jazz 2 took first place in Division 2, and tenor sax player Ian Ziehr received an outstanding solo award. Jazz 1 took third place in the Open Division and drummer Sam Faught and tenor sax player Ryan Mcgonigal both received outstanding solo awards.
In addition to Ozark's bands performing, 14 Ozark students performed with the SCMMEA District Jazz 1/2 ensembles. Ozark had the highest number of students in the district bands compared to the other represented schools. Congrats to all our jazz players!
JROTC Mountain Guard Nearly Sweeps Smith Cotton Competition
JROTC's Mountain Guard Drill team had a nearly clean sweep of first place in all categories at a Smith Cotton competition on Feb. 17. The team took first in armed color guard, armed new cadet,
unarmed color guard, armed regulation and overall armed. They took second in armed exhibition and third in armed inspection. Two cadets also received individual awards. Cadet Hembree took first place for new cadet commander and Cadet Jackson took second place in armed commander. Congrats on a great competition cadets!
