My name is Zach Wigle, and I will be serving as the principal of Solon Intermediate when we open our doors this coming August. I want you all to know how excited I am to be a part of creating this new school. Opportunities like this don't come around often, and believe me when I say we will be making the very most of it . I have spent the last 1.5 years here in Solon as the district Activities Director and will continue to fulfill that role until June 30, 2018. Prior to our move here, I was a high school principal in Keokuk for three years. Before moving to Keokuk, I spent eight years in Ottumwa as a teacher, coach, and administrator. I am excited to immerse myself in the 4th and 5th grade community and get to know as many people as possible. This past semester I have been able to join Lakeview as an administrative manager working part-time in the mornings. I can’t wait to meet each of you and get the 2018-2019 school year started!
My educational philosophy is to create an environment that fosters mental, physical, and social development by emphasizing the importance of trust, cooperation, hard work, respect, and responsibility. I am an authentic person and will hold myself and others accountable. I pledge to show respect and demonstrate integrity in all that I do, and want you to know that I will do my best to serve your son or daughter to the best of my ability. We will expect the same out of every employee in our school. Students and teachers will be held accountable to do their very best every day.
As Solon Intermediate continues to take shape, we will communicate as often as possible. Our staff for next year should be finalized within the next two months, and the planning has already started to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible for everyone involved.
