Letter from the Board of Directors
May 2024
Happy May!!
I hope you are all thawed out from winter (which was super mild) and spring and ready for a fun filled summer!!
I just want to introduce myself, as I am a brand-new board member here 😊. My name is Jessi Schoeberl and I work as the Area Relations Specialist at Grand Casino Hinckley! What does that mean you might ask; I get to be out and about in the surrounding communities building relationships with people and businesses! I have worked at Grand Casino for just over 16 years and I am loving every minute of it!! I am from Rush City, married to my husband Joe for 32 years, have two adult children Randi (28) and JT (26), along with a son-in-law, daughter-in-law and two amazing grandsons, Declan and Breyer!!
With all that said, I am super excited to be a member of the Board of Directors for Chisago Lakes! My goal for this first year is to get to know more of the people involved in the chamber, help out at some events and build relationships!
I am looking forward to the summer sunshine, time with friends and family, golfing, Harley riding and much more.
Some things to look forward to for not just me, but also hopefully you, are the Chamber Luncheons, Friday FIKA’s, Taylors Falls boat rides, hiking in the State Parks, 4th of July celebrations and of course the Chambers Annual Golf tournament in August 😊.
I hope to see you all at some point this summer!! I am looking forward to meeting new community and chamber members!!
Sincerely,
Jessi Schoeberl- Grand Casino

Chisago County Public Health- Mental Health and Resilience Workshop
Chisago County Public Health is excited to invite you to our upcoming Mental Health and Resilience Workshop on May 20th and 21st in an effort to build a more resilient community. To kickstart this community-wide initiative we invite you to attend one or both days. If you cannot attend the full day, we highly encourage you to attend individual sessions that work for your schedule.
- May 20th (day one) will focus on community members. This workshop aims to provide tips and tricks for taking care of your mental well-being and building resiliency skills. Whether you have faced challenges or simply want to be better prepared to support others, there’s something for everyone.
- May 21st (day two) will focus on leaders! This workshop aims to increase awareness of societal and personal stressors that can impact one's mental health and provide resources to strengthen and support workplaces, families, and the broader community to overcome adversity and build resilience. The leadership day will conclude with a round table discussion identifying opportunities to help others become resilient individuals. Concepts such as community of practice, community education and awareness programs, and mental health and resilience hubs could be shared.
More importantly, leaders will be asked to think ahead for future discussions on broader community resilience conversations. While we know individual resilience is critical, community resilience also focuses on physical, environmental, and social resilience. Continuing the discussions about ideas to improve our community’s ability to overcome small or large events to become stronger, sustainable communities in the future.- Sessions will be different on both days, and we encourage leaders to attending the community day AND leadership day if their schedule allows.
Both events will take place at Maranatha Assembly of God (24799 Forest Blvd., Forest Lake, MN 55025).
