C.I.T.Y. News

While it's hard to believe that the holidays are upon us, it also feels like 2020 has been the slowest, most never-ending year. I'm hoping that the holidays give us a little reprieve from the daily struggles of pandemic life to show gratitude for those in our lives and to celebrate with our families, even if in new ways this year. C.I.T.Y. of Support wants to help make the holidays as easy as possible. We have our (3rd annual!) Rockin' Shoppin' Holiday Gift Event in full-swing on our website, and our Collaborative Blog Post is available for your submissions, helping us compile useful strategies from different collaborators in our C.I.T.Y.

We are grateful for this strange, yet impactful year with C.I.T.Y, and we are proud of what we've been able to accomplish, despite the pandemic. Just take a look below!

It's finally here! Our 3rd annual Holiday Gift Event has been completely redesigned in an online format, meaning that it is accessible to everyone. Shopping with C.I.T.Y. will make you feel good, knowing that you are supporting small businesses, funding our local nonprofit organization, and discovering the most unique gifts for those on your list with special discounts exclusively for C.I.T.Y. shoppers. Just look at the variety of items below...there is really something for everyone.

The only way C.I.T.Y. is raising funds during this event is through raffle ticket sales, so please browse through the shops and try your luck! Each vendor has contributed a $50 gift card to their online shop, so if you win, YOU choose your prize. Plus, each $3 raffle ticket purchase doubles as an entry into our Grand Prize drawing: A sensory-friendly, socially-distant weekend away in Lake Geneva, WI from Feb. 5th-7th (Winterfest 2021!).

Please note: Raffle tickets are on sale during the 1st week only. We will be joined by our favorite local rock band, Valius, as we draw the raffle winners LIVE in our Facebook Group's livestream on Saturday, Feb. 7th at 7:30. Thank you for your support!

Meet Adam! His family was gifted a sensory-friendly family photo session this past month with Something Blue Photography in Arlington Heights! According to his mom:

"Our boys have just returned to remote learning after nine successful weeks in person, so this is a big adjustment for our family right now. Just at the start of school, Adam was ready and successfully potty-trained very quickly, after years of us wanting him to do it. He did it on his time, as he always has done everything. My boys are my heart, & I feel lucky to be their mom."

As a go-to source of helpful information, C.I.T.Y. has the unique position of being able to compile many different resources in one central location for the benefit of our community. If you have applicable resources such as blog posts, flyers, websites, or videos, please share them through our Google Form for the chance to be featured in our next Collaborative Blog Post specifically devoted to the topic of "Handling the Holidays in 2020." This is a great way to showcase your expertise and share information with our community. We hope you'll contribute!

Sign up to participate in this fun, FREE program (starting in Jan. 2021), and your child will receive a handmade birthday card in the mail from another child who receives therapy services.
