The Buzz with Mr. Bell
Welcome to May!! This officially begins the time of year where we experience warmer temperatures, standardized testing, field trips, musical performances, and yes...the end of the school year.
Some reminders as we progress through our month:
1. NJSLA testing for Grades 3 and 4 begins the week of May 6th and May 13th. Please make sure children get a good night's sleep, have a healthy breakfast, and enter each school day on time. Any student who arrives late will need to sit in the office and attend make-up sessions on days different than designated testing days, which will disrupt your child's schedule further. Also, unless they are sick, please make sure they attend the school days. Again, we want to limit these disruptions from their normal schedule.
2. It has come to our attention that dogs are being brought onto school grounds during the day, especially at dismissal. As per the most recent updates to Board of Education policy 7490, they are not permitted before, during, or after school, regardless of students being present. Some parents have voiced concerns, so while we all love our pets, please keep them home.
3. As we look to close out the school year on a high note, please remember that unless of extreme circumstances, students absences should NOT exceed 20 days in a school year.
4. Most importantly, we congratulate Ms. Carr for being named Meadowbrook Teacher of the Year!!
With Teacher Appreciation Week approaching, and School Administrative Assistant Week recently passed, its a great time to celebrate all of the amazing staff members in our building.
