• Ms. Jenniffer and Ms. Dobrina will no longer accept cash deposits. If you bring cash we will take your cash and get a money order and the remainder will go towards tuition. Please bring in a check or a money order. If you bring cash you will be turned away. Thank you families for understanding.

We suggest you pay online using FACTS. FACTS can also take payments in debit or credit card for your convenience.

We are excited to start the first week of full days. Here are some important reminders about specials:

• We will have specials on A-Days and B-Days

• A-Days are Mondays and Wednesdays

• B-Days are Tuesdays and Thursdays

• You can wear your gym uniform on the day you have PE

• Here are the A-Day and B-Day PE days by grade

• A Day (Monday & Wednesday) = PK 4, Kinder, Grade 2, Grade 4, Grade 7, Grade 8

• B Day (Tuesday & Thursday) = PK 3, Grade 1, Grade 3, Grade 5, Grade 6

• Must wear regular uniform on your Performing Arts day

Sending some reminders about the PE uniform, which students can begin wearing next week.

• Gym Uniform can ONLY be worn on PE days

• Gym uniform is:

• OLQA T-Shirt

• OLQA Sweatpants

• OLQA Sweatshirt

• Students can wear sneakers that are: ALL BLACK OR ALL WHITE

• Not meeting these expectations will result in a uniform slip

The building is very hot. Remember students can wear the white OLQA polo shirt. Additionally, we suggest that students do not wear the sweater in the heat.

Make sure the uniform is all ready to go as soon as possible, particularly black school shoes. We have started our trial run of uniform slips, but consequences will go in full effect starting 9/18.

Reminders about procedures for this year;

• PreK (7:45 - 2:20) = Drop off and Pick up will be on the PreK patio by the Third Avenue side of the building
• Kindergarten (7:45 - 2:30) = Pick up will be outside in front of the building
• Grades 1-5 ( 7:45 - 4:00) = Parents pick up students in the gym. Enter from the 2nd Ave door, pick up in the gym, then leave through the Third Ave door
• Grades 6-8 ( 7:45 - 4:05) = Students are self dismissed out the 3rd Ave door. Reminder to email communications@olqaeastharlem.org if you want you child to be held for pick up.

Please remember to bring in your Medical Forms. We have updated immunization for about 70% of students. New York State requires all immunizations to be up to date and your child can be excluded from school if they are not completed.

• Our dedicated staff has been working hard to plan a variety of activities that combine learning and fun. From arts and crafts to sports activities. We aim to keep your child engaged and entertained in a safe and inclusive environment.

Parent-Staff Communication:

• Open door policy: we value your input and encourage you to reach out to us with any questions, concerns, or suggestions. We are available to discuss your child's progress, any specific needs, or to address any other matters you may have. To foster a strong partnership between parents and our program we will be posting on the OLQA newsletter where we will be sharing updates about the program.
• Update contact information: Please inform us immediately if there are any changes to your contact information. It is crucial that we have the most updated information to reach you in case of an emergency.

Important Dates and Reminders:

• We are excited to open registration back up for OLQA after-school program. To ensure your child’s spot by completing the enrollment form.

We appreciate your ongoing support and trust in our after-school program. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us. Together, we can create an enriching and enjoyable experience for your child.

Reminder that there will be a HS Fair on 9/17 at 4:30 in the OLQA gym. All 8th grade families must be there and 6th and 7th grade families are highly encouraged to attend.

If your child receives IESP services, either through SETSS (Special Education Teacher Support Services) Speech, or Occupational Therapy, we will be using Knowledge Road to provide these services. Be on the lookout for an email from Connie Eugene at Knowledge Road for updates on getting services set up for the start of the year at connie@knowledgeroad.org.

Here is our supply list based on grade band for this school year. Teachers may ask for additional items as the school year progresses, so use this list as a starting place.

Please do not purchase the button down shirts from Flynn O' Hara. You may buy them in Cookies, Old Navy, Amazon, Target etc. You are not obligated to purchase it from Flynn O; Hara
