December Edition
Delgado's Notes
November flew by and now we are at the start of December! During the month of November we had several school wide events that showed gratitude for our community. From the Veteran's Day celebration to our food drive we were able to give back in meaningful ways. In November we were also able to announce our Teacher and Support Staff member of the Year. It is with great pride that we recognized Mrs. Nicole Chan (teacher) and Ms. Kathleen Adams (support staff) as the winners of this great honor. Frost is so grateful to have them on our team!!
We kicked off the month of December with our Frost Family meeting where our new monthly focus was introduced, Cosmic Compassion. We will have a month filled with activities that focus on ways in which we all can show compassion for each other and in our community. Although we have a short time together during the month of December we will make time to join as a school to implement our monthly theme and celebrate the holiday season. I would like to wish everyone a safe and healthy Winter break. As we enter a new year it is my hope that we continue to work as a school community to enhance the social and academic experience of our Frost students.

Nurse Abbruscato's Corner
Stay well this cold and flu season! Please encourage/practice good handwashing at home with your children. Practice the proper way to cover their sneeze/cough to reduce the spread of germs. Advise them to use hand sanitizer whenever possible after sneezing, coughing, and blowing their nose. This season’s flu vaccine is available at most pediatrician’s offices by appointment.
If your child stays home with fever (> or = 100.0 or 37.8C) they should not return to school until they are fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medications such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
If your child tests positive for strep throat or is diagnosed with conjuctivits (pink eye), they need to be on the prescribed antibiotc/eye drops for at least 24 hours AND improving symptoms before returning to school.
If your child tests positive for COVID, please report your child’s positive status to the Nurse’s Office as well as attendance. Your child may return to school once they’ve been fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medications and symptoms have improves.
Finally, if your child tests positive for the FLU, please follow the advice of your pediatrician and keep them home for the advised amount of time.
