CASTLE CHRONICLES - MARCH 11, 2024
DECA DREAM TEAM ATTENDS CAREER CONFERENCE
Our DECA team proudly represented SMHS and maximized every moment of their time at the 65th Massachusetts DECA Career Development Conference held in Boston. Our ten qualifying members had successful role plays, enjoyed Friday night's DECA After Dark Events, and even went to the top of the Prudential Center!
The conference was the largest in Massachusetts history: over 3,800 students and 120 schools represented. Senior Dylan McCabe (pictured below) took home a medal, placing in the state's top ten in the Hotel and Lodging Management Series! Special thanks to DECA advisor, Mr. Ben Gavoni, for his leadership.
Congratulations to all DECA members!

A SLAM-DUNK SEASON!
SMHS's extraordinarily talented girls' basketball team played Norwell on Friday night for the third time this season. After splitting the first two games, the Blue Knights unfortunately lost 62-40 to the Clippers in their Elite Eight game. The loss marked only the second time our Blue Knights were beaten this season. With our whole starting lineup returning(!), Coach Barrett is optimistic that our Knights will be back to make another run next season!
STRONG FINISH ON THE ICE FOR HOCKEY!
On Wednesday, March 6, SMHS's skilled boys hockey team suffered a tough loss (2-1) in an Elite Eight matchup with Dover-Sherborn/Weston. The Blue Knights were stymied by a terrific performance by the opposing goalie who turned away multiple shots from Sandwich. The loss capped off another successful season for Coach Mohre and his squad! We look forward to next season! Go Knights!
KNIGHTS FOR KNIGHTS!
SMHS's SCHOOL SPIRIT IS ALIVE AND WELL!
We want to take a moment to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our student supporters who have shown incredible school spirit at our events this year! Your positive energy and enthusiasm has made a difference and created a lively atmosphere! Whether you're cheering from the stands, clapping in the auditorium, playing an instrument in the pep band, or participating in spirit days, your dedication has not gone unnoticed!
We're grateful for each one of you for creating a strong sense of community at SMHS!
GO KNIGHTS!

Thank you, Chloe & Amanda!
ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: ANDREW SIVCO
Andrew Sivco followed his heart and became a professional performer! He has been working successfully on the well-known Disney Cruise Lines, and in various dance companies, professional shows and summer stock theatre!
