• Senior Posters Create a poster to celebrate your senior’s high school memories and achievements! We encourage poster with lots of photographs and other memorabilia. For details on creating, printing and turning in the poster ➟ LSHS Senior Poster Guide.

• Each school year, after graduation, the school district needs to close out the Google accounts of those students who are departing. We fully understand that during your school career, you have built up years of emails, documents, slideshows, and much more that remain in these accounts and there are many you want to keep. Please read Lakeville email and Google Drive files to learn the steps you should take as soon as you can to avoid losing all of the files and emails you've accumulated while a student in Lakeville Area Schools. Please read it carefully. A lot of information has been provided, so read it first and then decide what method you will use to keep your files. Be a leader, step up and apply to be a Senior Class Officer! Senior Class officers plan Homecoming Court, help with class meetings, design and distribute Senior T-shirts, and plan the Senior Brunch. Congratulations to Cougar Girls Track and Field! Three rain delays could not stop this team. The Cougars were seeded 6th coming into this meet and thanks to an amazing 4x400 performance (last race of the night ) they grabbed a 2nd place finish! This is the team's highest point finish since 2016! The South Suburban Conference track and field prelims are Tuesday and the final Wednesday at Eagan High School. Congratulations on an impressive showing!

Here is a recap of Cougar Athletics from LSHS Cougar Insider:

• No. 1 South Girls Lacrosse turned in a great week with three wins to stay unbeaten. South beat Rosemount 19-5, blanked Shakopee 17-0 for their first shutout of the season, and whipped Edina 14-3. This is the final week of the regular season for lacrosse.

• Boys Tennis won their first match of sections, then lost to eventual champ Rochester Mayo. Individuals are this week. Adapted Softball lost in the finals of last week's state tournament 5-4 to Dakota United.

• Softball scored a pair of wins last week to finish the season on a three-game winning streak. The Cougars topped Eastview 6-5 and Burnsville 7-0. South earned the third seed in Section 1AAAA to land a home game with Rochester Century on Tuesday, May 21 at 5 pm.

• Baseball had a pair of one-run losses early in the week but closed with a solid win. After giving up the lead in the seventh to North at Elko on Monday night in a 6-5 loss, South lost 1-0 at Burnsville and beat a good Shakopee team 9-1. The Cougars close the regular season Monday afternoon hosting Hastings. Playoffs start on Memorial Day.

• Cougar Boys Lax opened the week with a 15-3 win over Rochester Century/JM/Mayo then lost 11-4 at Rosemount and 11-7 at Shakopee. The boys have two games remaining.

• South Girls Golf was third in the Dakota County Championships at Emerald Green on Friday with a 363. Two Rivers shot 332 and Farmington carded 353. The SSC golf meet is Tuesday at The Wilds.

• Cougar Boys Volleyball lost to Eagan and Rosemount last week. They host Farmington on Monday, May 20 and play at Shakopee on Thursday, May 23.

• The next meeting is Wednesday, May 29 at 6:00 p.m. in room C302. We will be learning how to pack, filling out rooming requests and finalizing travel plans. See Ms. English in C309 if you can not attend.

• Lakeville South High School student, Alice Yi, has been selected as the Minnesota District 2 winner of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition for her drawing! Yi will have her artwork displayed in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol for one year, allowing those from all over the United States–and potentially the world–to admire it. • Act 1: Enjoy solos and duets by individual members of Encore, featuring a mix of pop, rock, and musical theater favorites.
• Act 2: Experience a group showcase highlighting contemporary pop and rock songs performed by the entire choir.
• The evening will also include a Senior Slideshow and a Group Slideshow to commemorate the year's journey.

WANTED: High schoolers/college students that are in need of volunteer hours for our 2nd week of Camp Invention (June 17 - 21 with no camp June 19.) Camp Invention is A STEM Summer Camp Program for Grades K-6 that turns curious kids into innovative thinkers. It is a great leadership experience.
