Hello Ranger Families!

This week students started participating in reading groups to enhance their learning. This is a great opportunity for students to work with different teachers and peers. It’s fun to see the collaboration! We started the week celebrating kindness at our Ranger Way Assembly. The trait for the month of October is Active Listening. We are so proud of our Rangers. Enjoy your weekend!

Dental Day is October 9th. This is an optional service. Only students with a completed permission form will be seen by our visiting hygienist. Watch for the permission slips to come home with your student.

A reminder that all medication, even over the counter, must have a written/signed authorization from your LHCP and be kept in the health room. This paperwork must be renewed every school year. This is the state law.

Spirit Wear will be here this coming week!

If you have any questions or concerns with your spirit wear order please contact the PTA at elkridgeelempta@gmail.com.

• Please contact our office before 3:00pm if there are any changes to your child's end-of-day transportation plans. The end of the day is a busy time for us and we cannot ensure transportation changes after 3:00pm.
• If you are picking up your child in the car, please follow our loop. We will have one teacher designated to ask parents daily who you are picking up and they will direct you to a colored curb along our sidewalk (red, orange, green, blue, or purple). When you get to that section another teacher will help escort your child in the car.
• If you are walking home with your child via Copperwynd, please wait for them on the other side of the crosswalk. If you are walking home via Heather Lane, please wait for them at the designated area behind the bike rack. Our staging area for students in the pick up line needs to be clear for students and staff only.
• We will not be dismissing students across the parking lot to parents as it is a safety concern.
• The bus loop is for buses only. Please do not park behind the bus loop either.
• Kindergarteners-2nd Graders will be dismissed at 3:20. 3rd-5th Graders will be dismissed at 3:25.

Every year the White River School District offers a sack lunch option on half days. If you would like your child to bring home a sack lunch on half days for the 24-25 school year please fill out and submit this form for each student by Friday, October 11th.

This year's half days are:

• Thursday, October 17th
• Tuesday, November 5th
• Wednesday, November 6th
• Thursday, November 7th
• Wednesday, November 27th
• Thursday, February 13th
• Friday, April 4th
• Thursday, June 12th (Last Day of School)

Sack lunch includes:

• American Sub Sandwich (Turkey & Cheese)
• Fruit or Vegetable
• Juice Cup
• Chocolate or White Milk

Please note: The Child Nutrition Department is not responsible for the temperature control of the sack lunch meal, including the milk, after it is picked up by the student. Please make sure all sack lunches/milks are stored in a cooler with ice to ensure proper temperatures are maintained.

Cost:

Regular Paid Lunch Students $3.50

Free & Reduced Students $0.00

If you don’t want your child to bring home a sack lunch you do not need to fill out this form.

The White River Education Foundation supports White River students district wide. Some of the things they support are our Kindergarten field trip to Northwest Trek and our 5th grade field trip to JA Biz Town. Their annual fundraiser is coming up on November 2nd.
