MUMS Family Newsletter
May 10, 2024
Dear caregivers and families,
I want to start by thanking everyone who made a teacher's week special this week for Teacher Appreciation week! Also, a special shout out to Friends of MUMS for the wonderful lunch they provided on Wednesday, we are so grateful!
Next week we will embark on our 8th grade trip to Boston on Friday. 8th grade families please look for a reminder email mid-week next week which will include final trip details.
Additionally, while we still aren't completely sure about our last day of school, I've decided to finalize our 8th grade promotion date and time. We will have an 8th grade promotion ceremony here at MUMS on Thursday June 13th @ 10:30 am. This ceremony is about 45 minutes long and will be immediately followed by a lunch for 8th graders and their families. More information will be shared as it becomes available to us.
We look forward to our final few weeks with the class of 2028 and are excited to wish them well on their High school journey!
Best,
Michaela

From our MYP Coordinators
Some of our 8th graders traveled with Mr. Montague over to Steve Colangeli’s Plant and Wildlife Biology class. MUHS 11th and 12th graders did weeks of research and then shared projects about invasive species, soil, endangered species, maple sugaring, dissecting owl pellets, the dangers of sugar in our food and much much more! The stations were interactive and a great way for both MUHS and MUMS students to practice their speaking and listening skills. An added bonus was simply getting our students into the high school before their transition next year! Thank you, Mr. Montague, for organizing this outing!

MUMS Summer Program
MUMS is thrilled to announce we are hosting a summer program this year focused on building upon and reinforcing social-emotional learning (SEL) and supporting academic needs. The program will run Monday through Friday Starting July 8th and ending August 2nd. Students will be invited to join the program based on their identified needs. We are looking forward to an amazing summer and the planning team is already hard at work. More information will be shared later and invitations for students could be expected in late May. Please direct any questions to Dustin Hunt who will be overseeing the program @ dhunt@acsdvt.org.
