8th Grade Fun Day
8th Grade Fun Day will be on Friday, May 24th, during the school day to celebrate our students' promotion to high school. There will be inflatables, pizza, ice cream, DJ, Photo Booth, and other activities for them to enjoy. Tickets are $15 cash or check ( made out to MMS PTO). Permission slips may be submitted Monday and Tuesday to the main office (if needed) with the accompanying $15. We need a lot of parent volunteers so please consider signing up

Please consider signing up to help at the 8th Grade Civics Tradeshow on May 24th from 8-10am. The tradeshow is a fun event where all 8th graders market and sell the creations they made for their "start up" company to school community members.

VDOE Lexia Information Sessions for Parents and Families
Lexia is proud to partner with families and the Virginia Department of Education to help fulfill the state's ALL In Tutoring! Lexia is excited to announce that they are now offering information sessions specifically designed for Virginia families. In these sessions, parents and families can expect to learn how Lexia will accelerate their child’s literacy growth and how they can be ALL in with at-home strategies to support their learner!

Congratulations to Mrs. Roever, Counselor (Last Name: C-G) on her recent Game Changer Award!!! Mrs. Roever has served Midlothian Middle School families for 29 years!!! Our school community is better because of Mrs. Roever's dedication to ensuring that our students have what they need in order to succeed. Whether with academics or mental-health challenges she provides the resources needed for our students. Well done!

Summer School Information
Fill in learning gaps. Strengthen skills. Get ahead. Whatever your motivation, summer school can help make summer count! Summer programs are available for students with and without an individualized education program who meet the criteria detailed on the summer learning page. Scroll to the bottom of that webpage for answers to frequently asked questions and contact information for each area of summer school.
Registration opens April 11 for in-person summer school and closes May 28.
CCPSOnline summer registration has been open for weeks and closes April 26 for students interested in taking high school credits online.
Summer Camp Options for Grades 6-8
Summer camps offer a chance to explore new areas, and registration is open now! Chesterfield County Public Schools is offering four different camps in 2024, and they are expected to fill up fast. Get the details and register here for Camp EPIC, Cultural Arts Camp, Team SKILLS and World Language Camp.
Camp EPIC Flyer CAMP EPIC is for rising 5th through 8th graders. The camp will provide exciting, hands-on experiences related to a specific career. Students will learn about options within the career pathway as well as the training and education required for specific careers.
Dates: June 10th -13th, Monday through Thursday
Tuition: $150.00
Hours: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Team SKILLS basketball camp open for registration
Team SKILLS is a basketball camp where students improve basketball skills, develop teamwork and learn important life lessons 8 a.m.-noon Monday through Thursday in the Midlothian Middle gym. The cost is $75 for each one-week session. Sign up now using this form.

End-of-Year Medication Pickup
All medications must be picked up by June 4 from the school. All medications must be picked up even if your student will attend summer school. Parents of summer school students will need to provide medication for your student to the summer school coordinator at the site your child will be attending at the beginning of the summer session. Please contact your child’s school nurse to request a copy of the medication order for all medications being administered during summer school. You’re invited! El Librotazo, the big book party, is planned for July 9
Chesterfield County Public Schools, in partnership with the Chesterfield Education Foundation and Dominion Energy, is hosting the first El Librotazo: the big book party. During this event, each child in attendance from birth through high school will select 3 to 5 books to keep to add to their home libraries. Books of different genres and in various languages will be available. Additionally, attendees will enjoy activities, cultural performances, a mobile exhibit from the Children’s Museum of Richmond, music, food and more. This free event will be held Tuesday, July 9, at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds from 5-8:30 p.m.
Nominate Hall of Famers by Aug. 31
Nominations are open through Aug. 31 for the next inductees into the Hall of Fame of Chesterfield County Public Schools. Nominees should be memorable educators and volunteers who made a significant difference in Chesterfield County schools. Nomination details and a simple nomination form are available at bit.ly/CCPShall.
