THE WOLVERINE CONNECTION
September 2 - 7, 2024
From the desk of Mr. Lewis
Wolverine Family,
As most people are aware of, today was my last day as principal at White River Valley High School. I have accepted the position to be the next superintendent at Eastern Greene Schools. While I am excited to begin my next professional journey, I am also sad to leave the Wolverine Family and the great students and staff I have had the pleasure to work with.
The send off that the students and staff gave me this morning means more to me than I could ever put in words. From the gifts from each class, to the signed plaque from the entire school, and the faculty lunch it has been an emotional day that has warmed the heart of this old principal.
I want to take a moment and say a heartfelt thank you to the entire Wolverine School Community. The past five years we have been a great team! I am proud that we have built positive relationships, quality programs, and hopefully provided experiences that have prepared students for life after high school. It has truly been an honor to lead White River Valley High School. I will cherish my countless memories working with the students and watching them answer life's challenges and work towards their career goals. Witnessing the students grow academically, experience extra and co-curricular activities, and seeing the five classes graduate has meant the world to me.
I also want to thank each and every one of our faculty and staff members. WRV HS is in good hands with the outstanding adults that work in this building. The faculty and staff is caring, hardworking, and they all have a student-first mentality. Each day it was a pleasure to come to work and team up with the awesome staff of WRV HS and I thank each staff member for all they do now and will continue to do in the future. Without a doubt, everyone will continue to work every day to provide the students at WRV HS with the best possible education.
So, as I bid a farewell, one last time I want to thank everyone here at White River Valley for welcoming me as your principal and I wish everyone all the best moving forward. Thank you for making my time as a Wolverine such a fantastic experience! You should all be proud to be Wolverines as I was very proud to be a small part of the Wolverine Family and serve as your high school principal.
Thank You White River Valley,
Doug Lewis
