What's happening at ALA? (PreK-12th Grade Communication)
Spring Break Holiday
As a reminder, Monday, March 17th, is a staff development day and student holiday. The overview of all of our school holidays can always be found on our 2024-2025 Instructional Calendar for ALA Euclid and ALA Tech.
PTSA News
ALA-PTSA has partnered with Neighborhood Forest to provide free trees for kids (0-18yr). Register for your free tree here by Mar 15th and your tree will be distributed to the student in April, just in time for Earth Day! There is no obligation to donate to Neighborhood Forest or to make a purchase; ALA-PTSA is not responsible for any purchased items.

2025-2026 School Year
All families, please take a moment to log in and complete your student's registration or let us know if they will not be returning next school year. Doing this as soon as possible will help us plan thoughtfully for next school year. If your child will not be returning to ALA, declining their seat will allow us to offer spots to families on our waitlist. Below are the steps to complete your student's registration or share your plans for next year:
Go to saisd.net/enroll
Select “returning student”
Login using your previous credentials
If you are having issues logging in, select “Account Lookup”
If you do not have access to Avela or are having issues logging in, please reach out to your Campus Clerk:
Euclid: Ce’nese Wooten (cwooten1@saisd.net)
Tech: Brenda Cantu (bcantu2@saisd.net)
Family Survey Deadline
This year’s Family Survey before the deadline this Friday, March 21st. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us understand your student’s experiences and your perspective as a parent.
Please take a few minutes to complete the survey at www.saisd.net/familysurvey before Friday!
ALA @ Euclid
Shelter for Severe Weather Drill
This week, our ALA Euclid students will engage in a Shelter for Severe Weather Drill. Prior to the drill, students will be informed that this is a practice drill only so they feel safe and prepared. This drill provides students and staff with the opportunity to practice important safety procedures in the event of a severe weather incident while at school. Please reach out to Mrs. Barber if you have any questions at jbarber2@saisd.net; thank you for your support in keeping our students safe!
Science Presentation from Trinity
This Friday, March 21, our students will enjoy an exciting science presentation from Trinity University! They will explore fascinating topics like liquid nitrogen, electricity, light, motion, and air pressure through fun demonstrations.
This is a great opportunity for students to engage with real-world science in an interactive way. Feel free to ask your child about what they learned—we’re sure they’ll have some exciting discoveries to share!
Kinder Field Trip to Magik Theater
Kinder will be launching their poetry, Folktales, and Fairytales PBL with a trip to the Magik Theatre to watch Elephant and Piggie’s We are in a Play performance on Friday. Volunteers are needed to help supervise students after the performance while they play at Yanaguana Park 12:30-1:15. You must be an approved volunteer and can register here: https://appgarden6.app-garden.com/VolTrackTX015907.nsf/OpportunityEntry.xsp?action=openDocument&documentId=10791E&redir=Opportunities&b=0&ov=Opportunities

Congratulations to the girls' golf team for bringing home first place on Monday, March 3rd tournament! They beat all other SAISD teams plus Roosevelt and Holy Cross.
The boys team didn't bring home any medals, but they are still consistently beating all in-district teams and have a strong position to qualify for regionals; so keep encouraging them as they make a final push this month before District.
