ELPAC Testing: How Students Can Prepare & How Parents Can Support
Dear Families,
The ELPAC (English Language Proficiency Assessments for California) testing begins next week! This assessment is an important tool that helps us understand our students' progress in learning English and ensures they receive the support they need.
How Students Can Prepare:
- Practice English every day: Encourage your child to engage in conversations, read books, watch shows, or listen to songs in English.
- Stay calm and confident: Let your child know that the test is an opportunity to show what they know. Remind them to relax and do their best.
- Review key skills: Focus on areas like reading comprehension, listening, speaking, and writing. These are important components of the ELPAC.
- Rest and eat well: A good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast will help your child feel ready to perform at their best.
How Parents Can Support:
- Encourage a positive mindset: Help your child approach the test with confidence. Remind them that it’s just one part of their learning journey.
- Create a supportive environment at home: Provide a quiet, comfortable space for study and encourage your child to ask questions if they need help.
- Stay involved: Keep in touch with teachers about your child’s progress. Your involvement shows your child the importance of their education.
We appreciate your continued support in helping your child succeed. Together, we can make this testing experience as positive and successful as possible.
Thank you!
