Celebrating many accomplishments this month!
Good afternoon, North Scott community! What a fantastic turnout we had at the grand opening of the Regional Innovation Center – community support truly made it a memorable event. Looking ahead to this weekend, I hope our students have a wonderful time at Prom, Saturday! As we move further into May, our spring sports are hitting their stride, with many teams nearing the midpoint or conclusion of their seasons. Excitement is also building for the summer ahead, bringing with it the graduation ceremony on May 25th and the joy of graduation parties. We're incredibly proud of all our students, and I want to extend early congratulations to the upcoming recipients of scholarships and honor roll recognitions. Finally, a huge round of applause for our North Scott Choirs! Their outstanding performances at the Large Group Contest in Bettendorf, where all three ensembles – Treble Clef Chorus, Bass Clef Chorus, and North Scott Singers – earned a Division I rating, are truly something to celebrate.
Wishing an upcoming Happy Memorial Day to all!
Sincerely,
Joe Stutting, Superintendent

Key Event Details:

- 9:00 AM Sharp: A crash reenactment will take place on the school grounds, involving various first responders.
- Approximately 10:00 AM - 11:15 AM: Students will move to the auditorium for the Choices Matter presentation. This will feature speakers sharing their personal experiences related to OWI (Operating While Intoxicated) incidents.
Students do have the ability to opt out. If they opt out of an all junior or senior class, they need to report to the cafeteria or library. LANCER LOOKOUT - MAY
Prom Night: Make It a Night to Remember—for the Right Reasons
As the music swells and the lights sparkle, we know Prom is one of the most
unforgettable nights of the year. You've earned this celebration, and now its your time to shine.
But before you step into the limo, snap those photos, and dance the night away,
remember:
Your choices matter.
Don’t let one bad decision dim your shine.
Say no to drugs and alcohol. Say no to driving under the influence. Whether you're behind the wheel or riding with a friend, make sure you are choosing safety.
The best memories don’t end in sirens.
Hospital gowns don’t make good prom dresses.
The best outfits don’t belong in the back of an ambulance.
The best nights end with hugs, not regrets.
Make plans ahead of time. Call for a ride. Stay over. Be the friend who looks out for others.
Let’s make Prom 2025 magical and safe—for everyone.
This is Officer Jahns asking you to: Drive smart. Celebrate safe. Make it home.
