The Raider Lead
March, 2024

Welcome to "The Raider Lead" Newsletter!
A Message from the Principal
Hello, Raider Family,
Welcome to the March edition of the Raider Lead school newsletter! Our theme for the schoolyear is: HPEM-- where leadership shines! Each month, please look forward to all the ways that our students, teachers, and staff are letting their lights shine brightly as they share their gifts, talents, and leadership skills.
We will be studying Habit 8 this month: Find Your Voice and Inspire Others to Find Theirs. Find Your Voice and Inspire Others to Find Theirs helps us put the 7 Habits to work. "Find Your Voice" is about using our strengths, talents, and passions to make the world a better place. When we do, we inspire others to do the same. You can learn more about Habit 8 at home by exploring the Home Habit Huddle activity.
The month of March brings us to the end of 3rd quarter and into the final nine weeks of the school year. It is vitally important to keep up-to-date with students' grades and attendance in PowerSchool. If you do not have a PowerSchool Parent Portal account, please contact the school so that we can assist you with this. You also need to schedule a parent/teacher conference if your student recieves notification that he or she is in danger of failing for the year.
There are many great activities and events going on this month for our Raider families to enjoy--including our Leaderhip Day event! You will definitely want to make sure you participate as we share how we've grown as a school family this year. Review the BIG ROCKS calendar for the month so that you can plan to be involved!

Attendance is Crucial to Student Success!
Average for Absences for the Month
Research shows that students who are chronically absent from school perform much lower academically than their peers. Student attendance is critically important to student academic achievement. Please make every effort to ensure that your student(s) are at school on time each day ready to learn!
In February, our average for absences was 8%. This is a decrease by one percentage point from January, but it is still higher than we need it to be. Let's move those attendance averages down, Raider families! Our attendance goal for average absences in March is 5% or less.
