October Greetings, Woodland Families!

Thank you/Thank you for ALL the things!

We are so VERY proud of our students and the many ways that you support your student/or students at home each and every day.

Those important supports include:

ensuring that your student arrives on time each school day;
reading at home for 20 minutes and talking about what your student is reading;
checking homework folders;
practicing math facts;
and talking together about our school days...
asking about the best part of each school day, and if there are there any concerns...
also reaching out to your student's teacher or teachers with any concerns, questions, etc.
We are here for you!
And always remembering:
Those daily connections are so very important for each of our students.

And as we continue with Learning Quarter Two, we invite you to visit us for lunch and to attend as many activities as your family schedules will allow. Your partnership is so very important to us and we love to see you!

Excellent School Attendance = SUPER important!

When your student is sick, running a temperature, or if there is a family emergency, please call our office prior to 9 AM: 423.434.5267.

After five Parent/Guardian Call-in Days: a Doctor's Note is required in order for an absence to be excused (per TN Attendance Law).

Only 3 Parent Request Days are provided each school year. Each request must be pre-approved by Dr. Reach (per JCS Policy).

Please ensure that your student arrives on time each and every school day. Every school minute is important!

We are unable to provide high quality instruction for your student if he/she is absent.

Our October PTA Meeting @ 6 PM (Our school performance will take place @ 2 PM.)
Our GR 3 music program to follow.
Our GR 3 artwork will also be on display.

TUES/NOV 5th

JC Schools will be closed for all students.
Parent/Guardian/Teacher Conference Day: please connect with your student's teacher or teachers to schedule a conference date/time. Many conferences are being conducted previous to NOV 5th.

THURS/NOV 7th

A morning Title I Meeting @ 10 AM for any parent/guardian who was unable to attend our SEPT Title I Meeting.

A Woodland Service Project: Our Can Tab Collection

Please continue to collect your can tabs at home and send your collection to school when you are ready. We are continuing to collect for our Johnson City Ronald McDonald House. TY, Woodland Families!

Ice Cream Fridays

Miss Amanda is planning to offer ice cream treats on FRI of each school week:

75 cents per treat.

Students will need to have funds within their individual lunch accounts or bring money to purchase. Ice cream will not be provided as a free item. This is totally optional and your decision for your student or students. Please reach out to Miss Amanda if you should have questions. She will be happy to talk with you via email or in person: gallama@jcschools.org.

TY, Afternoon Car Line Families, for your excellence with our Afternoon Car Line Tags. We appreciate you!

As we continue to refine our afternoon processes, please help us with the following car line details:

Please ensure that you are traveling at a very safe speed t/out our car line. It is always important to remain slow and steady within our lines (morning and afternoon).

Secondly, please do not leave your car unattended at anytime while waiting in our afternoon car line. This includes our K car line in the front circle. Please know that particular line is only for K students - without Woodland siblings. Please check with your K teacher if you should have questions in that regard.

Also, please do not enter our playgrounds or soccer fields at anytime unless you are officially signed in through our main office as a Woodland Guest.

Very importantly, we must refrain from taking photographs of classroom students on our playground and fields. Confidential procedures affirm that we may only take photographs of our own children unless pre-apprroved through the principal's office.
